Kapitel 40: Going to the nobel meet

The room was quiet as Ethan sat at his desk, deep in thought. The morning light filtered through the curtains with a warm light while Ethan was thinking about what to do for the noble meet.

He was trying to make constructs using waterform and he is trying various creative techniques with reading several picture books trying to imagine him doing it inside his mind. He wanted to create an entity that can be controlled like a remote control toy.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening, and he looked up to see his mother, Lucia, entering the room with a small carved box in her hands.

Lucia's expression was the usual calm and stoic one but she seemed unusually soft and seemed shy on her steps that only Ethan could recognize. She approached him, her steps shy and placed the box on the table in front of him.

"Ethan," she began talking her voice low and steady. "There's something I want you to have."

Ethan looked at the box, then back at his mother, curious. "What is it?"

Lucia opened the box and there were two things inside it. First one is a beautifully crafted necklace. It was made of a dark, lustrous metal, with a pendant in the shape of a crescent moon, inlaid with a shimmering blue gem that seemed to pulse with a light.

"This is the Blackwood heirloom," Lucia explained, her fingers gently brushing over the pendant. "It has been passed down through our family for generations. It—it holds powerful magic, magic that can you stockpile and unleash."

Ethan reached out to touch the necklace, feeling the cool metal against his skin. "It's beautiful," he murmured.

Lucia nodded, a rare smile touching her lips. "It's also incredibly useful. The pendant contains a reservoir of magical energy that can be drawn upon in times of need. It has 500 times capacity to store mana than normal capacity of the user."

Another thing in the box is an ancient, leather-bound book. The cover was used, yet beautifully preserved. The spine was reinforced, and in the center of the cover was a symbol—a crescent moon which is glowing in black light.

"This is the Blackwood Grimoire," Lucia explained, her fingers gently tracing the designs on the cover. "It's sometime I have earned when I was young and stored it for a while. It contains our ancestors' knowledge and power. Within its pages are spells, incantations, and rituals that are not available to public."

"Finally! I knew you are hiding something. But why didn't you give me this much earlier " Ethan asked annoyed that his mother hide them from him

"Well, you are a child back then and now you know how to handle yourself. It was the right time for you to use them as it the right time for you to face world " Lucia replied while patting his hair.

Ethan reached out, touching the cool leather of the book. He could feel a pulse of energy beneath his fingertips, as if the book itself was alive, waiting for him to unlock its secrets. "A grimoire," he murmured

Lucia nodded, her rare smile briefly softening her features. "Yes, and it's incredibly powerful. The spells within are not only for protection and battle but healing, and understanding. The grimoire will grow with you, its magic adapting to your needs and enhancing your abilities."

She picked up the necklace and moved behind him and her arms around his neck. As the pendant settled against his chest, Ethan felt a surge of warmth and energy flow through him. It was as if the necklace recognized him, acknowledged him as its rightful owner.

"There," Lucia said, stepping back to admire her work. "It suits you."

Ethan touched the pendant, feeling the power within it. "Thank you, Mother," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.

"We should get going," she reminded him .

As they reached the entrance, servants hurried to open the grand doors, revealing the luxurious, well-guarded carriage waiting outside

As they entered inside the castle, they showed the sign of Blackwood family mark on their arm. Black wood family mark is like a birthmark that is formed at their body. That is the proof of their origin. Ethan has one on his left arm and his mother has one in her left forehead that is hidden by her long hair. According to Ethan her birthmark makes her even more hot and sexier.

The grand hall of the Noble Meet was where top 4 nobel families gathered within the holy triton castle. Ethan approached the entrance, his mind raced with creative thoughts about what will happen. Kimora hid inside his hair, as a little spider. Marina was close by, holding Ethan's left hand and Elara held his right arm, Marina was gazing curiously at her surroundings while Elara was inspecting Ethan, he looked mysterious. Chole was walking back checking the surroundings for any threat. Lucia was just calming moving with her stoic and cold aura making other mages shiver around her

Seraphina, Ethan's loyal maiden, had been left to rest in his room within the Blackwood castle, due to her pregnancy.

Ethan thought about Seraphina. It was cruel to leave her but she needed to be rested and should focus on the childbirth, he didn't want to leave her behind but he has to for few days.

He could still remember the scene. The young woman had collapsed onto his bed, sobbing uncontrollably, repeating over and over how she was useless without him.

"Master left me! I'm useless, I'm no good at all without him!" Seraphina was crying, clutching Ethan's pillow like a lifeline.

Seraphina's sobs only grew more hysteric, her cries echoing off the stone walls. "He's out there, fighting, leading, becoming something dangerous—and I'm stuck here! I'm nothing without him!" Her voice rose high pitcher as she sobbed uncontrollaby

"Madam Seraphina, get a hold of yourself!" Freya had called her, amused by her mood swings. She was pregnant and was in mood swings, and she has to bear her for few days. It is giving her huge headache but she must do it for Madam Lucia and Young master Ethan

Seraphina's sobs continued unabated. "What kind of battle maiden am I if I can't even be by my lord side? I might as well be a maid!"

Lucia approached cautiously, kneeling beside Seraphina and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Madam Seraphina," Freya murmured, her voice soft yet firm. "Please, don't cry. Ethan wouldn't want to see you like this. You are pregnant with his child. He will return as soon as possible. Lady lucia is with him"

"Master... my sweet master..." she had muttered, finally succumbing to exhaustion and falling asleep mid-cry, leaving the room quiet in her absence.

"Finally. " Freya sighed as she close the curtains and left her to sleep, she has to give her medicine and food regulary.

Back in the present, Ethan shook off the thoughts of Seraphina. They have almost reached the nobel hall, Damn it was long.

Lucia's smile softened as she leaned back, still maintaining her composed demeanor. "You'll do just fine," she added, her tone gentle but carrying a mother's confidence. "It's in your blood, Ethan. Blackwoods rise to the occasion."

Ethan glanced out the window,. "Yeah," he replied simply, his voice more resolved than before. "I'll make sure of it."

The moment they stepped inside, the room filled with the quiet murmurs of conversation, which quickly fell silent as the nobles recognized the arrival of the Blackwood family. Lucia, the matriarch of House Blackwood, stood tall and strong. Servants in the House Triton, wore deep blue and gold, stood at their attention.

Amara, dressed elegantly in a deep green gown, approached Ethan and Elara. She gently placed her hand on Elara's shoulder "Elara, it's time to let Ethan go. He needs to meet everyone, and so do you. Remember, you're a Blackwood. You can do this on your own."

Elara hesitated, her big eyes looking up at Ethan. She didn't want to let go, but Ethan gave her a reassuring smile. "You'll be alright, Elara," he said, his tone gentle. "Just stay with your mom."

Elara pouted a little, her grip loosening as she nodded. "Okay, Ethan," she replied in a sweet, small voice, sounding every bit like the shy child she was. She let go and moved to stand beside Amara, who smiled at her warmly and brushed her hair

Amara whispered, giving her daughter an encouraging squeeze. "Now, let's go meet some people."

Inside, the grand hall was beautiful. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a soft glow over the marble floors . The banners of the four most powerful noble families—Triton, Coral, Oceana, and Blackwood—hung proudly, each marked with their family sigils. Ethan entered, accompanied by Lucia, Marina, Elara, and Chloe.

House Triton dominated one corner of the room. The Triton sisters stood together, each a striking figure in their own right.

He first noticed a young woman from House Triton, wore a deep emerald gown standing out with her sad gaze and neatly groomed long white hair. She wore a deep blue gown. Somehow she seemed full of wisdom and awarness despite having a detached face. Her eyes were weird though.

Beside her was another Triton girl dressed in a lighter blue she looked gentle with pastel waves of her dress. She seemed warm and inviting, her smile gentle and genuine.

The youngest girl was dressed in a vibrant blue dress with silver accents, she held her chin high, her expression smug and her gaze critical as she sized up them, her lips curled into a smirk as she gazed at Ethan. It seemed more insulting smirk.

At the opposite end, House Coral stood. A dressed in sapphire blue that matched her sharp gaze, stood with her arms crossed. Her expression was intense fixed on Ethan as if sizing him up. She looked confident.

Next to her was a boy in a fitted silver tunic with athletic build. He had a stern look, and his right hand rested on the hilt of his sword. He eyed Ethan critically. "Doesn't look like much," he muttered, his voice low but audible enough to reach Ethan's ears.

Before Ethan could respond, A man approached him a mischievous glint in his eyes. He wore a navy blue coat and he looked charming. "Careful, Adrian," Cedric teased lightly, his voice carrying a playful lilt. "Not every meeting has to start with killing."

He then nodded at Ethan, a welcoming smile on his face. "Welcome, Ethan. Hope you're ready for a chat. I am Cedric Oceana filled with vast kindness of an ocean "

Behind Cedric, A girl stood in a pale pink gown with her light blonde hair styled simply. Her eyes darted nervously between the guests as her fingers is fidgeting with the fabric of her dress. She barely managed to glance at Ethan before her gaze fell to the floor as her cheeks turned into a soft pink. She stayed close to Cedric.

King Triton himself arrived and he has great aura around himself. His strength is too much for even level 8 mage, and as he raised his hand for silence, the murmurs ceased instantly. "Welcome, all, to this important assembly,"

He began, his voice carrying authority. "Today, we gather not just as representatives of our noble houses, but as allies, bound by a shared destiny. It is my sincere hope that the four great families—Triton, Coral, Oceana, and Blackwood—can continue to foster good relationships and work together for the prosperity of our lands."

His words were met with nods of agreement among other family heads.

Cedric, standing beside Ethan, leaned in and whispered with a smirk, "This is going to be a long one. Best to make some friends while we're here, eh?"."
