Kapitel 76: You act like a bitch

I woke up to an empty bed, the sheets cool where Carmen had been. I stretched, feeling a mix of disappointment and acceptance. Carmen had a demanding schedule, and I knew she couldn't always be here in the mornings.

Still, it would have been nice to wake up next to her. I sighed, pushing myself up and swinging my legs over the side of the bed. The events of last night replayed in my mind—the kiss, the confrontation with Sydney. It was a lot to process, but I had to keep moving forward.

I headed to the bathroom, turning on the shower. The hot water was a welcome relief, washing away the remnants of sleep and the lingering tension from last night. As I stood under the spray, I couldn't help but think about Sydney.

She was the one who was supposed to marry Carmen. The thought made my heart clench, but I pushed it aside. I couldn't dwell on that now. I had my own place in Carmen's life, and I needed to focus on that.
