Wednesday afternoon before one o'clock, Navya and Sanjana were already in the hall of the Faculty of Biology. They were preparing to attend a seminar on Molecular Biology, which again invited Mohit as one of the speakers. Sanjana also looked excited from this morning, reminding Navya of Sonia's reaction when Mohit was the speaker of the previous seminar.
"Mr. Mohit Chouhan often becomes a speaker. The seminar room must be full," said Sanjana.
Navya laughed at her comment. She looked around. It was true, the seminar room was packed, especially with the female students. Most of the undergraduate students, and some of the master's students like them. Maybe the male students are only a fraction of the total participants.
As before, the girls scrambled to fill the seats in the front row first. Navya and Sanjana got a seat at the back, even though having arrived half an hour before the seminar started.
"A boy as handsome and smart, why is he still single, Navya?" spark Sanjana when Mohit's CV was read and Mohit walked towards the seminar podium.
Sanjana propped one hand on the table. She couldn't take her eyes off the front, as if she was engrossed in her imagination of Mohit. "Must be confused about which girl to choose, so many girls are lining up to be chosen." Suddenly Sanjana commented looking at Mohit.
Navya was silent at her comment, hiding her real heart that was starting to get worried. "How would Sanjana react if she found out that I am Mohit's legal wife?" Navya thought in her mind looking at Sanjana. According to Mohit's CV and self-introduction, there is not the mention of marital status or spouse, which made the female students even lecturer hopeful.
When Mohit began to give a presentation, Navya increasingly recognized the intelligence and greatness of the man. Obviously Mohit is very well versed in the material he is skilled at. The way of presentation was also interesting, making the seminar feel alive. The charisma of Mohit seemed to radiate strongly on the podium.
During the previous seminar, Navya didn't focus on listening because she was afraid of being caught by Mohit. But this time, Navya understood why Mohit was so admired by everyone.
"If they knew Mohit's personality personally, they would be even more amazed." For some reason such a thought suddenly crossed Navya's mind, causing her to quickly shake her head.
The seminar lasted for almost three hours. After the seminar was over, as usual, Mohit was surrounded by many female students who wanted to take pictures together.
The girls scramble to stand next to their idols, but Mohit still serves requests they are friendly and full of smiles. Navya's heart rumbled more and more uncomfortably at the sight. "Ah... why the hell is he surrounded by the girls today?" Navya said to herself in disappointment.
"Sanjana, let's find something to eat! I'm hungry," said Navya trying to distract herself.
"Okay, let's eat meatballs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, let's go! Meatballs in the Pharmacy canteen are famous for being delicious. Have you eaten before?" asked Sanjana.
"Oh, really?" Navya responded. "I haven't eaten. Let's go to the pharmacy faculty." Navya said to her.
"Alright, come on!" Sanjana answered.
The two of them came out of the Biology Faculty hall, then walked to the Pharmacy Faculty. The two faculties are indeed next to each other, separated by an elongated iron fence.
The canteen of the Faculty of Pharmacy at four o'clock this afternoon was not too crowded. They chose a seat located in the middle of the garden, like a gazebo but without walls. Two bowls of meatballs were delivered to their table in less than five minutes by a friendly and agile meatball seller.
"Mmm...! It's true what you said Sanjana. The meatballs are delicious!" said Navya while chewing. "It's better than the one in our canteen. The meat tastes great." Navya continued.
"It's delicious, isn't it? I've eaten here many times. But don't come at lunch time, you have to stand in a long line. The meatballs are really good!" Sanjana responded while sipping the meatball sauce that was still smoking hot with a spoon.
"Wow, we can stop by here often, it's recommended," continued Navya.
"Eh, Navya... Look at that!" Sanjana suddenly lowered her voice while pointing towards the cafeteria a few meters away from their seats.
Navya's eyes followed the direction of Sanjana's hand. Mohit was seen walking into the canteen, approaching the seller's stall where they ordered the meatballs earlier. But what made Navya's heart skip a beat was the woman who followed Rama from behind. It's Anjali!
Anjali seemed to order meatballs at the same stall as well. Then the woman sat at the table with Mohit. Mohit sat with his back to Navya and Sanjana, so that Navya could not see his face. While Anjali sat with her face, facing Mohit.
Navya could clearly see Anjali's smiling face, it seemed that she really enjoyed being with Mohit. Soon, two bowls of meatballs were brought to their table. The two of them were seen chatting while eating.
"Who is that girl? How can she eat with Mr. Mohit? I'm really jealous to see it," said Sanjana in a curt tone.
Suddenly, Navya's appetite disappeared. "Why did the meatballs that used to taste so good become tasteless? Why did Anjali also appear here with Mohit?" These are the questions that are running through Navya's mind but she haven't any answer.
Navya remembered the story of Mohit. Anjali is Mohit's junior when he was in college majoring in Pharmacy. "Surely Anjali is no stranger to her own faculty. But how can she eat with Mohit? Have they made an appointment to meet?" Navya asked to herself.
It was in Navya's mind when they met at the bookstore last Saturday. Mohit seemed to want to quickly pass away from Anjali's presence. But now, Mohit and Anjali are eating together!
Navya hastily finished the meatballs that were no longer available appetizing again. "Come on, Sanjana! We're going home." Suddenly Navya said to her.
"Eh, be patient. The meatballs haven't finished yet," Sanjana protested. "Why are you in a hurry? You don't want to wash your eyes at the Pharmacy first? Who knows there's a cute boy." Sanjana teased her.
"Ah, hurry up! It's getting late," complained Navya impatiently. The only thing on her mind was to get out of there.
Sanjana had to eat in a hurry because Navya urged. After taking the last bite of the meatball, Sanjana stood up as well, following Navya who was ready to walk away.
As Navya walked out of their seat, she turned one more time towards Mohit and Anjali. Her eyes met with Anjali's eyes directly. She is also looking at her!
Navya turned her face away, hurriedly stepped away. Hopefully Mohit doesn't see it too!
Navya arrived home at five o'clock. Usually Mohit will return home by six o'clock in the afternoon. Navya rushed to take a shower and change clothes. Then she sat on the front porch of the house pretending to be busy with her laptop.
Half an hour passed. It was six o'clock, but Mohit had not yet arrived home.
"Miss Navya." Miss Padma appeared from inside the house. "Aren't you going to eat first?" She asked her.
"Not hungry yet, Miss Padma. Earlier on campus, I ate meatballs before leaving for home," Navya reasoned.
"Oh, that's okay. I think you are waiting for Mohit sir" continued Miss Padma.
"Why Mohit haven't come home yet, Miss Padma?" Navya asked her.
"At the very least, Miss Navya, maybe he is still busy in campus or in traffic," said Miss Padma.
Miss Padma left Navya alone on the front porch. Navya busied herself with reading lecture material on her laptop, but her mind couldn't focus at all. Mohit usually never came home late at night, never later than six o'clock in the afternoon.
Another hour passed. Navya's stomach had started rumbling asking to be filled. The meatball she ate just now looks like
has been digested. She had to walk into the dining room. She had served delicious chicken and steamed rice on the dining table, but just like the meatballs earlier, she still couldn't enjoy it.
Until Navya finished dinner, Mohit still didn't come home. Mohit also did not update anything via chat or phone call.
Annoyed, Navya sat on the chair in the living room. She want to learn something but her mind can not focus. The TV was turned on, but there was nothing on the show that caught her eye. "Why would I lose interest in anything?" Navya thought in her mind.
Towards nine o'clock, there was the sound of a car roaring into the front yard of the house. Navya hastily leaned back against the chair, looking for a comfortable position so that it was not obvious that she was waiting for Mohit.
The sound of approaching footsteps, Mohit appeared at the door of the living room. He wears a long-sleeved green batik shirt and black trousers, the same as his appearance during the seminar.
"Navya... how come you're watching TV at this time." Mohit's deep voice greeted. He immediately sat on the chair in the living room while putting his laptop bag on the table.
"I'm just relaxing, just finished studying earlier," Navya lied. "You have just returned home." Navya said it while keeping her eyes fixed on the TV screen, pretending not to care.
"Oh, yes. I met an old friend, so it was fun chatting. Sorry, I didn't have time to tell you. Have you eaten, Navya?" Mohit asked her.
Navya nodded. "Yes. Mr. Mohit." She answered firmly.
"I've also eaten with my friends," said Mohit. He stood up again. "I'll take a shower first, okay?" Mohit said and then walked into the main room.
Navya's heart churned with anger. Mohit casually admitted to meeting old friends, even going out to eat together! "Who else if it was not Anjali? What were they doing to get home this late at night? Uh, why should I even care?" Navya thought in her mind.
Suddenly her cell phone rang. Spontaneously, Navya grabbed her cell phone from the table. "Hello?" Navya answered.
"Hi, Navya! How are you?" It was Suraj's voice.
"Hi, Suraj" Navya said.
"Navya, I keep thinking about you, here. What are you doing there?" Suraj asked.
"At home, watching TV," Navya answered lazily. Her heart was still angry.
"I really want to meet you. When do you have time, Navya?" asked Suraj again.
Quickly, Navya straightened her body. Suddenly an idea crossed in her mind.
"Tomorrow can you pick me up, Suraj? I come home from college around two o'clock," said Navya. "Pick me up from the campus, okay?" She continued.
Suraj enthusiastically immediately agreed. "Okay, we'll meet tomorrow at the front gate of the Faculty of Biology, okay?" Suraj said to Navya.
"Alright! Thanks, Suraj!" Navya said. She smiled triumphantly as she ended the conversation. "You think only you can go for night out with your friends? Now see I will also go for night out with my friend." Navya thought in her mind and smirked.
