Kapitel 19: Super Brain, Unimagined Road

"Anything wrong?"

Eric's impression of Lana, the older sister of his best friend, was rather neutral.

It wasn't personal dislike but rather a general disinterest in people who seemed romantically inclined and often wore a melancholic expression.

 ".Hmm?"

Lana hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to broach the topic.

 "Did you paint these?"

Deciding to start the conversation with the shocking paintings on the wall, Lana inquired.

"Looks like it. Currently, there aren't any artworks on the market quite like these," Eric replied nonchalantly.

These were just doodles he had done in his free time.

He probably discovered his talent for drawing when he was bored, perhaps awakening his artistic talents when he drew his hometown exploding using crayons during childhood.

As his "Kryptonian" abilities unlocked gradually, not only did his physicality change, but his mental faculties also transcended those of ordinary people.

He began to feel a sense of emptiness, even doubt, as his mental capacity expanded beyond conventional norms.

His mental faculties expanded, extending into what seemed like an abyss akin to deep space or the depths of the ocean, delving into new realms of consciousness, continuously diving into those dark, ineffable existences.

It wasn't the hallucinatory changes one might associate with a psychiatric patient's mental world but rather a transcendence beyond the realm of ordinary people, a mental growth to a higher level.

Utilizing his enhanced mental prowess and the darkness that filled his heart, Eric began to draw those dark entities he visualized.

These works exhibited a strong sense of the unknown, terror, a vast and irrational style, much like his beloved Cthulhu Mythos from his previous life.

Not only did he draw in a "Lovecraftian" style, but he also wrote numerous "Lovecraftian-style" texts.

Of course, it wasn't a direct copy of the "Cthulhu Mythos" from his previous life but rather a fusion of his enhanced perception, combined with the DC universe he was in, to create obscure and hard-to-understand texts.

Although Eric didn't know much about the DC universe from his previous life, he knew there was some connection between the DC universe and the "Cthulhu Mythos."

Elements like Arkham Asylum in Gotham City and characters like Arkham, the Fisherman, from Atlantis bore many similarities to entities from the Cthulhu Mythos.

While he had a sudden interest in the idea of becoming an author, he wasn't particularly interested in becoming a writer. However, if he could publish a book, perhaps he could use it as a way to launder the money he had obtained from the mob.

This way, he could explain to Jonathan and Martha how he had earned his money through legitimate means.

After pondering for a moment on how to use publishing to launder money, Eric looked up and said, "Clark, I know you're out there. Come in."

 "Squeak!"

The door creaked open, and Clark entered, looking a little embarrassed.

"Eric, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. Since yesterday, my hearing has become much more acute, and I always seem to hear things I shouldn't," Clark explained, feeling ashamed of his eavesdropping.

"It's okay," Eric replied, not bothered by Clark's eavesdropping. "When I first discovered my hearing, being able to hear sounds miles away, I couldn't control it either. Adapting to your new body is a process."

Clark pursed his lips, wanting to say something.

Because of the brawl at the dance, he felt a little awkward facing Eric now.

After a moment of silence, he asked Eric, "Eric, about Jeremy's death... was it you?"
