Kapitel 264: Precautionary Measures

[ Third Person POV ]

Mariejois

Saturn had hung up the call he had made with the leader of the forces raiding Egghead Island. Looking down, an injured Ginny lay unconscious on the ground as blood slowly came out of her mouth.

He couldn't help but be curious as to how she had managed to get rid of the disease that she was inflicted with way back then. There weren't any known methods to cure it as far as he knew, and he was almost certain that she was going to suffer for a while before she died.

Yet here she was.

"It seems that you're primed for another round of experimentation, but I'll have to wait until they get your lover back here," Saturn remarked.

Ginny was supposed to be unconscious and slightly flinched upon hearing Kuma being mentioned. Saturn didn't miss this and kicked her right in the ribs, sending her flying across the room and slamming into a wall.

"Lock her up, feed her the bare minimum until Bartholomew is returned back into Mariejois," Saturn ordered. He was about to leave the room but froze before looking back at Ginny.

"Also, put another explosive collar on her. Make it extra tight; the only thing she should be doing with that thing on her neck is breathing," Saturn remarked before finally leaving the room.

The World Government agents wasted no time grabbing Ginny and forcing a collar around her neck. She was then thrown into the prison chambers that happened to be within Pangea Castle.

As soon as the World Government agents left the prison. Ginny got up from her position and immediately got to work, trying to remove the collar. She had long learned the art of picking locks, so this wasn't anything new to her.

'I need to get out of Mariejois! I didn't know that they were having a full-fledged lockdown!'

She was on a mission to figure out more secret layouts within Mariejois. They had already freed plenty of slaves by finding these layouts, but every time they did this, the layout was immediately placed under heavy scrutiny.

She managed to sneak in by hiding within one of the World Government ships that was heading back into Mariejois. It took quite a bit of stealth for her to maneuver about. However, she was unfortunate enough to stumble upon Jaygarcia Saturn, who had happened to be returning to Pangea Castle to meet up with his fellow Elders.

At first, she had managed to avoid Saturn's detection; however, when one World Government agent accidentally spotted her and called her out.

Saturn wasted no time appearing right behind her and incapacitating her, which was like child's play to him, considering his strength.

Leading to the situation that she, no they, were currently in at the moment. She had entrusted her daughter to Kuma for safekeeping while she was away on the mission, but for some reason, Kuma's whereabouts had been discovered.

Things weren't looking too good for the trio.

She had to think up a plan to get herself along with Kuma and her kid out of this spot. However, as soon as she had managed to unlock the shackles on her hand, an alarm immediately blared from the seastone cuff.

"What the-?" The sudden developments took Ginny aback.

World Government agents immediately barged in and wasted no time unlocking the cell that Ginny was in before beating the life out of her.

They kept going until Saturn finally walked in with his cane in a semi-formal demeanor.

"You didn't really think that I hadn't anticipated your escape, did you?" Saturn commented.

"There's no need for you to worry; I'll have you and that Buccaneer locked up as soon as possible and ready for a fresh round of experimentations," Saturn remarked.

Then, Saturn let out a venomous sputum out of his mouth that coated Ginny's leg. Ginny screamed as the poison burned the flesh of her leg along with the muscles. She wasn't going to be moving like she normally did with that kind of injury.

"Just for reassurance," Saturn said before leaving the room.

He was closely followed by the World Government agents who had promptly beat the life out of her, and soon, the cells retained the silence that they initially had.

Ginny was in too much pain to even dare move her feet. However, she wasn't in too much pain to remove the transponder snail that she had hidden deep within her bosom. She had long developed the habit of hiding a transponder snail whenever she would go on missions.

It was just her tiny bit of luck that Saturn and the World Government agents didn't bother searching her thoroughly before throwing her in jail.

"Desperate times....*huff*....calls for desperate measures!" Ginny muttered as she immediately began dialing.

Before she even dared to do that, she had already scanned the room to see if there were any transponder camera snails lying around for surveillance. She wouldn't dare risk her last result to a mere blunder like that.

The snail rang quietly before the other end of the line picked up.

"Who's this?" Dragon asked.

"Dragon!" Ginny exclaimed.

"Ginny! Where are you? What's the status of your condition?!" Dragon immediately began asking.

"I got a critical injury on one of my feet. Essentially, I'm immobilized, but it's not me that you need to worry about! Kuma's been compromised as well! You need to go save him before it's too late!" Ginny remarked.

"What about you?! We were planning on forming an entire rescue team to storm Mariejois to come find you!" Dragon replied, "Besides, Kuma can be fair just fine as long as there isn't a powerful figure with the World Government Agents."

"You don't understand! My child is there! Kuma can't protect her and fight all of those forces off!" Ginny argued, "Please, save them first. I don't mind what happens to me, but I don't think I'll be able to die peacefully knowing that they are likely to perish as well."

"Ginny...." Dragon said conflictedly.

"Please! I'll be fine as long as you can get Kuma and Bonney out of there!" Ginny remarked.

"Fine, but as soon as we successfully extract the kid and Kuma, we're raiding Mariejois to get you," Dragon relented solemnly.

"All that matters is that Kuma and Bonney are safe," Ginny smiled before hanging up.

Seeing that the two most important people in her life were going to be safe, she was at peace with whatever Saturn would do to her from there on out. It was like hell trying to sneak into Mariejois; the security was so tight that Ginny thought it was nothing short of a miracle that she had managed to successfully sneak into Mariejois.

She rested her head quietly on the ground, thinking about the fate that awaited her. There was no doubt that her death was going to be painful, but she wanted to at least believe that there was going to be a chance for her to break out of the Holy Land and regain her freedom.

Thinking about freedom, she couldn't help but think about two people who greatly aided her, Kuma and Ivankov, leaving God Island. More specifically, she was thinking about Boris and his tendencies to antagonize the World Government.

She couldn't help but be curious...

She immediately got up and started dialing up a number. She had vaguely remembered his number, but she wasn't sure whether he used the same line any more.

'It's not like he's going to actually come just because he called...right?'

She was doubtful, but she wanted to believe. Was there anything wrong with hope?

The transponder snail rang for a bit of time before somebody picked up the other end of the line.

"Hello?" A voice laced with laziness echoed throughout her cell.
