Kapitel 72: Cement plant (9)

"Foolish bastard! You can't even take a shit. Get the hell out of there! If you become tired, don't force yourself to continue digging, give your fellow colleagues a chance to also enjoy the moment. Do you know how much that mattock costs? But the foolish you have just threw it away like that! Bastard!" Osip was incensed and he didn't take the worker's cowardly action lightly.

The worker didn't say a thing as he climbed up and substituted with another one of his workmate.

"It will take time for the workers to dig the two trenches that will meet each other at a right angle... I didn't examine the steep sided gorge of the waterfall, if I knew it was this rocky, I would have asked them to start digging those trenches yesterday." Virtya pushed towards Alexandre the blueprint of how the mechanism that he was going to build would look like.

Currently, Virtya had removed his overcoat and the coat of his suit and placed them around the backrest of his seat. The higher-ups were currently seated around a table and having a meal inside the wooden warehouse.

Alexandre stared at the blueprint and he could see that Virtya wanted to install the H beams into the trenches as these H beams would act as the fundamental support for the axle of the steel turbine blade.

Virtya would have built a support that was reinforced with cement and steel but he didn't have the cement for that, thus, he was forced to go the long way of digging trenches into the hard rocks for reinforcements where he would then have to fill the trenches with limestone rocks after installing the H beams in there, in the future, Virtya was planning to build a reinforcement support using cement and steel, that way, he would be sure that the flowage force of the waterfall would not easily uproot the whole mechanism from its place.

Through the workers coordination, they managed to dig the two perpendicular trenches and then Virtya allowed the workers to have their lunch at the late hours and then they were not allowed to have a protracted resting.

One should know that what the workers were doing on the east side of the waterfall was exactly what the other workers were doing at the West side of the waterfall.

Actually, each H beam was 3 metres long, thus, the workers were first needed to fasten four H beams together before they could insert this ultra long rod into the vertical trench. On the other hand, only three interconnected H beams were required to be inserted in the horizontal trench.

With the help of all the workers , they managed to insert the interconnected 12 metre long H beam into the vertical trench beside the bank of the waterfall but the trench that passed through the steep sided gorge of the waterfall was the one that needed them to be keen when inserting the H beams in there. Virtya decided to use the pulley to let down the 9 metre H beam which was then inserted in the horizontal trench.

The last step was to fasten the perpendicular H beams together and Virtya was needed to use the service of a one of the scrawny workers who could crawl into the horizontal trench and fasten the H beams together to make a right angle and after that, the trenches were filled with grinded limestone rocks thus finalizing this difficultly. Simultaneously, Virtya ensured that the activity that was happening on the east side of the waterfall was also happening to its Western side where the other workers were stationed.

The next step was easy as Virtya allowed another interconnected 12 metre long H beam to be let down and then the workers fastened the outside protrusion of the horizontal H beam with the newly brought down H beam. This newly H beam was to stand vertically.

After this step, it could be seen that the newly 12 metre long H beam that was fastened to the outside protrusion of the horizontal H beam stood straight with a right angle forming at where they were fastened together. However, unlike the ones which were installed into the trenches, these newly 12 metre long H beam was exposed to the moisture of the waterfall which made it wet with no time.
