So I had been doing a lot of research the past 2 of days.
Apparently you only call the girl back after 2 days? You have to let them wait to not seem desperate.
And the last thing I wanted to be was desperate.
Tom kept shaking his head saying I should just call her but what did a cat know about human relationships?
So I spent the past 2 days distracting myself by spending time with my summons, even talking to Naruto.
Apparently they already had missions in Africa and were becoming relatively well known.
Well good for them! I am glad they would be able to bring back resources for their village to use.
And after what felt like an eternity I was finally able to go back to work to clear my head.
"And then I kissed her." Barry told me, finishing his narration about how his date with Patty went.
I wondered if this is how highschool girls felt discussing their crushes.
"Nice man!" Cisco said as he high fives Barry.
The two of them were currently inside of Jitters during their break.
"So, how about you Lucas? Did you call back that girl?" Cisco asked as he drank his coffee with a nosey smile on his face.
"No actually, I sort of had a date with her friend ?" I said in confusion since I didn't know what I did with Blair would count as.
"What? Her friend?"
I narrated to the 2 briefly what happened, about why Blair was in Jitters the other day and how she ended up watching a movie and staying over at my place.
Obviously I didn't get into more explicit details.
"Well this is a sticky situation." Barry commented as he continued having his drink.
"What do you mean?"
"Dude don't you realize?" Cisco asked as he looked at my confused face.
"No matter who you call, the others gonna be butthurt. You don't know how close they are as friends so what if they fight and both decide to not want you?" Cisco proposed.
"Or what if you get together with one and you break up a friendship?" Barry then said.
"Or what if they're angry and think you're playing both of them?"
"Or-"
"I get it!" I said slightly loudly as the 2 of them who were having their fun finally stopped and laughed.
"I wouldn't worry so much, I'm sure everything will work out." Barry commented as he went to take a phone call.
As Barry walked out of the shop, and Cisco went to the bathroom, I saw a familiar figure walk into the shop.
Her long blond hair was tied into a neat ponytail. She was wearing boots which made her seem slightly taller but gave her a confident undertone.
She looked around for a moment before she spotted me, waved her hand and smiled.
"Hey!" She greeted me as she approached me.
I thought women disliked chasing after guys?
Isn't this technically the second time she asked for this? Well not that I'm complaining but this does put me in a little bit of a pickle.
"Hi." I replied, not really knowing what else to say.
She paused when she reached me and frowned for a second. "You don't remember who I am, do you."
"What? Who would forget you? Your Serena Vanderwoodsen. We met a couple of days ago in a bar and almost got squished to death by a growing forest. It is kind of hard to forget." I said smiling.
"You're right, that attack was weird."
"No, I meant it's kind of hard to forget someone like you."
She blushed at what I said, and followed me along as I cleared the table of empty coffee cups.
"So Blair told me that she wasn't able to pass you my number." Serena said as she hopped behind me with excitement.
"Yeah…sure" I mumbled.
"Anyways, here." She said as she passed me her number.
I took out the new Phone my sugar cat bought for me and put the number down.
Recently I felt like I was scamming Tom by buying him stuff with his own money.
After I put the number down she stared at me for a second before continuing, "so when do you get off ?"
"At around 6?"
"Perfect, I'll be back then!" She said as she disappeared.
What the hell…
You know life has been very weird for the past couple of months.
I mean besides the fact that after a particle accelerator exploded I awakened a system that allowed me to summon a Sugar cat, a talking toy, a robot, and the entire Naruto world.
There was also a wormhole that exploded here.
Let alone the fact that I was attacked by meta-humans almost on a monthly basis.
Life was definitely much safer in Europe, but I wouldn't want to trade that for this.
At least here, my life wasn't dictated by a timetable chart that was made before I was born.
At least here I didn't have to spend every waking second I had from the moment I was awake till I slept constantly doing things.
Even my sleep was regulated so technically I had absolutely no freedom.
Anyways, like I was thinking, life has been getting really weird.
Considering I never had any female attention for my whole life, yet suddenly I had 2 of the most beautiful women I have ever seen seemingly fighting for my attention.
I had begun to build up someone what of an ego, no matter how small it is.
Barry and Cisco left a little after Serena left since they had to get back to work.
Anyways, after ending my shift and handing over everything necessary to the following person who would be taking over, I walked outside to see Serena waiting right there.
"Fancy meeting you here again." She said as she skipped her feet towards me.
I smiled a little as I saw her bubbly personality. In my head I couldn't help but compare it to Blair and her 'pompous' attitude.
"Do you have anything in mind for today?"
"Nope, I was gonna let you decide what you wanted to do."
I paused for a second and then took out my phone to text someone who recently never got off of their phone.
[Me: Any ideas on where to take a girl out on a date?]
[Shikamaru: ??? Why the hell would I know.]
[Me: Makes sense, I don't know why I thought you would help]
[Shikamaru: what the hell is that supposed to mean?]
[Shikamaru: Lucas, don't leave me on read!]
"How about we go to a cat cafe?" I asked. I didn't have a lot of hobbies, but I know I am a cat lover. Who didn't love cats?
"Sure, I am leaving the entire day to you." Serena said as he waved her hands arond, whole carrying her bag which seemed pretty big.
"Want me to hold that for you?"
"Urm, I am good. This is to go with the outfit."
"OHh, I see. I will never understand fashion."
"You are dressed nicely now though?"
"Well that is because Tom has been very picky with what I wear lately."
"Is Tom your brother?"
"Something like that." I said with a smile as I called a taxi.
It didn't take long for us to reach a nearby cat cafe.
The marketing scheme of the cafe was actually quite smart. They were partnered up with shelters so that cats which haven't gotten adopted in a while and were nice would be here.
And if the customers liked after a certain amount of visits, mad vetting of their background, they could adopt the cats.
This way not only did the cats have a massive area to play with a lot of people, but they could also.
"Oh my god! They are all so cute!" Serena said as she ran towards the cats to grab a hold of some of them.
However, since when were cats so easy to pet? Without fail, every single one of them left and ran as far away from them as possible.
"Ma'am please calm down. You are stressing the cats out." One of the employees gently told her to which Serena apologized.
"Hahahahahaha." I couldn't help but laugh at her antics.
"What are you laughing at?" She asked with a slight pout.
I then went to one of the pillows on the floor then sat on them.
Taking out some of the treats I bought from the cafe, which were ridiculously overpriced, I shook the bag a little.
In an instant, 5 cats popped up to where I was and curiously looked at me from a distance apprehensively.
I then opened the bag and took a handful of the treats into my hand.
"The way to a cat's heart is simple."
Serena watched in awe as an extremely fluffy ragdoll cat approached me quickly and began rubbing her face with my knee.
It started to purr as it kept trying to jump and reach for the treats.
I however kept dodging slightly, but the cat was undeterred.
Once they had their eyes locked onto something, only very rarely did they stop chasing it.
I however hid the treats behind my back, and patted onto my lap, to which the cat immediately understood my instructions and jumped onto my lap.
And then I passed it the treats.
"It is through their stomach."
Serena nodded, and for some reason I imagined a chibi version of herself nodding extremely quickly being happy I taught her an ancient technique.
The ragdoll cat in my lap seemed offended, and started to scratch my pants.
And soon, more and more cats approached me affectionately and started to rub their heads against me for treats.
If there was heaven, I was in it.
Serena, clearly jealous, went to go buy some treats as well.
I couldn't help but smile at her antics and watched as she left.
And then, something caught my eye.
On one of the walls, the image of a familiar cat was painted.
It, or rather, he looked comical in his suit and tie with a briefcase.
On the briefcase was a piece of paper that said 'adopt.'
The fuck was Tom doing on a wall.
"Excuse me?" I called out to one of the employees nearby. "Why is that cat on the wall?"
"Ah well, the cat's owner actually bought this cafe 2 days back and implemented most of the changes here."
???
I bought a cafe? How come I didn't know about it?
Since when?
"Oh my god Lucas! It's working!" Serena squealed in excitement as a couple of the cats who saw me get distracted left me for Serena.
Such picky creatures.
"You're the only loyal one." I told the ragdoll, as I carried it like one would a baby and used my hands to touch its belly.
Well that got me scratches.
The cafe had a few customers, but most of the attention was being drawn to Serena. Her melodious laughter filled the place as some of the cats began to lick her making her feel ticklish.
How was that possible when cats tongues felt like sandpaper? I don't know.
"Wait, please help us take a picture." Serena said as she passed her phone to one of the workers.
She then sat right next to me, so our legs made contact.
As usual at this point my Turbo energy began to run rampant, and she continued to lean in and grab one of my arms, making me hug her.
She then placed one of the cats which were comfortable being picked up at this point, on my head.
Another one on my lap as I still carried the ragdoll.
It wasn't a bad experience so far.
