Kapitel 23: Chapter 11: Part 7 - Can Ryan Be Trusted?

= Luna POV =

"Judy!" I exclaimed with relief " Wait, how did you –" I asked looking back at Ryan.

"Oh, I saw you three come in together, and I figured my cousin's best friend, was probably looking for you, seeing how kind and caring she usually is," Ryan smiled, indicating Anna.

Anna blinked, looked at Ryan, and then looked at me as if something about us being together wasn't something she expected to see.

"Right… yeah, Rachel's cousin over here, seems to be quite the prince charming tonight, performing search and rescue for our stray kitten Chris" Anna said, but not with her usually upbeat cheer. She crossed her arms and was eyeing Ryan with what only could be a level of suspicion that one would direct to someone you don't trust. Was I wrong to have gotten myself involved with Ryan? In fact aside from my infatuation, I really didn't know much about the guy.

Ryan laughed nervously and pulled off his hair tie as if he was trying to calm himself down "Ok well, I have to get back to work, thank you for joining us today at the rave, please don't wander around these halls, you know don't who you might run into," Ryan said as he pulled back his hair to tie it up into a man bun, shot me a cheeky wink, and then left the room.

Just as he reached the entrance Ryan turned back and looked at me " Oh, btw I'm not kidding about what I said earlier. If I catch you fraternizing with a stranger again and sullying the good Lovewin name, the punishment will be a lot harsher, to drive into you just how much you can no longer do as you please when money and politics are involved," Ryan said firmly and then disappeared down the corridor.

Judy's eyes were wide, she looked from the empty door frame back to me.

"What did you do?" Judy asked, so bemused.

I shook my head and buried my face in my hands " Something stupid. Something so stupid. Is it ok if we leave for the night?"

A hand patted me on the back and I looked up to see Anna smiling at me sympathetically.

"Sorry, the Lovewins are…. quite intense. I'm sure whatever you did, it's not as bad as you think. Let me call the car around and we can go to the 24-hour diner nearby and you can tell us all about it over a couple of milkshakes," Anna cooed, however, I don't think any number of milkshakes would ever be enough to drown my problems.
