A few days later.
After running around at the perimeters of this tainted lake, the Extraterrestrial System eventually managed to create a virtual map of the entire land area.
What's more, with the help of the Alien Archive: Devourer Dimension, the information consumed through the dead skulls of the empire's holy army about this place was utilized.
[Current Location: Dark Lands—Eastern Umbrafell—Lake Shadine.]
Alien Archive Description: [A lake of shadows contaminated by the visages of haunted spirits; perished ones of the Landraken Mountains, now inhabitants of corrupted aquatic creatures.]
"I do find it strange," Grey muttered, his eyes subconsciously looking for Princess Quintella, whose curious gaze was currently fixated on the sizzling decontaminated trout in a purified wooden stick on a bonfire.
"As far as I have observed, this battlefield didn't seem like the front lines, and based on the information [Current Background] listed on the First Extraterrestrial Mission concerning Princess Quintella, this battalion is supposed to fight against the right hand of the Death Lord, whoever that is, right?" Grey pondered; Krishnaya then interjected.
[Master, according to my analysis based on your thoughts, it seems some of the innocent warriors of the empire had been given false command.]
[The reason for this can be the following...]
[] Front lines of the war on all sides comprised of thousands or even more holy warriors, and assassinating the Princess of Lumenasia Empire would be too difficult amidst the presence of those unaware. Hence, this remote yet suitable location.
[] Because of the evidence of monsters' bodies that resembled the undead in the nearby battlefield, it can be said that a battle truly transpired; however, the right hand of the Death Lord could not be seen, and the remaining survivors during our arrival comprised of only Princess Quintella and her uncle, which according to the stored information within the Alien Archive was named Count Gildeus.
"Wait... Could it be...?" Grey muttered, a sudden possibility struck him.
"Princess, come here for a second."
With a questioning gaze, Princess Quintella approached him as he sat on a log of wood beside the Lake Shadine.
"When were you drafted for the war?"
"Um, around a week ago. I–I mean I have been trained for a few months, but this particular deployment began just a week ago. Is something weighing on your mind, Mister?" Princess Quintella sat beside him, still donning her standard empire armor.
"I was just thinking, you see. Can you tell me the specifics of the command? Like why this place in the east exactly?"
"Uh, I think I know now about your concern, Mister. Our squad has been given false command if that's what you're wondering about." Princess Quintella chuckled.
"Hey, are you truly nine years old? What's with that royalty brain and demeanor of yours?" Grey was baffled at her display of intelligence and deduction skills, which was too quick given with too little and broad information.
Princess Quintella then broke down her deduction, which practically told Grey how she realized her parade toward death even before coming to this forsaken place.
"I see. I can't imagine just how vast this Dark Lands, you know. So you're saying that you've been deployed in this part of Eastern Umbrafell, which was far from the true front lines of the war against the Death Lord."
'Fuck, I need to study this world's geography as fast as possible. I can't just wait for Knowledge Assimilation.' Grey inwardly mumbled.
"That's about right, Mister. This place is crawling with undead-like monsters, but those are not dependent on the Death Lord. However, it doesn't mean they aren't strong." Princess Quintella paused, heaving an expressive sigh.
"Mister, do you remember when you were harsh on me? When I cried and told you that I wanted to at least save an innocent soldier from being killed that's why I went here even though I knew my fate? Well, a part of me wanted someone to survive and expose this matter to the public. Sigh, not that it matters anymore. Everybody's dead, anyway.
"And that by coming back to the empire simply means disgrace and my death." She fell into deep silence.
Grey attentively listened to this little Princess.
'She's a perfect candidate for Cultivation Age, though I still need her permission.' He inwardly thought, seeing this mature demeanor that was unlike a nine-year-old little one.
This cleared Grey's concern, that if he modified Princess Quintella's DNA and would speed up her aging process, he was afraid that her mental state would not be able to keep up. However, witnessing this surprising maturity, maybe it was only right for her physique and age to match her mentality.
'Krishnaya, what academic lessons are you teaching her?'
[About basic biology and DNA, Master. According to your observation, I shall introduce to her the impact of Gene Editing.]
'Okay, but do not tempt her regarding this matter. Just teach her as you usually do, and let her wonder and decide.
'I still want her to have a proper childhood life. Sigh, even though her childhood experiences are totally different at this age.'
Based on the DNA—Soul Core CA+ (CA-DNA-14) dubbed as Cultivation Age, one's aging process would be sped up by three times faster than normal, though only one's entire physicality would be affected.
'I want her to enter school.' Grey thought.
"Mister, I'm hungry. Let's eat that burned trout!" Princess Quintella's voice ended his little reverie.
***
"What's that, Mister?" Princess Quintella filled her mouth with the last bite of burned trout, something that was not delectable yet necessary, as she queried.
In Grey's hand, a disc-shaped metallic technology that could be said to be forbidden by this world's standards found itself.
"Ah, it's a forbidden medium for forbidden spells." Grey casually joked.
"Tsk, liar." Princess Quintella puffed her pale cheeks, causing Grey to scoff.
"Heh. Anyway. This little disc will be our mode of transportation sooner or later."
He then inspected its information.

[Flying Disc Core]
Alien Archive Description: [The energy core of the spacecraft named Anon Oriken, which runs at a speed faster than the speed of light. However, since this world's laws of nature operate differently compared to this technology's true origin, it has been heavily modified and restricted in terms of speed.]
Krishnaya's Reminder: [This technology is a sentient being powered by artificial intelligence. The host can set a command for its activation at any given moment even before its completion.]
[Would you like to set a command word, Master?]
"Command word?" Grey pondered.
After some time, without a bit of thinking, he then said,
"I am bad at naming something, so I'll go with Oriken itself."
[Setting the energy core's name as Oriken.]
It did not end there as Krishnaya asked,
[Would you like to activate a proper artificial intelligence that could house this energy core, Master?]
Even though Grey did not exactly comprehend the Extraterrestrial System's suggestion, he went along with it, though with safety measures.
"If it's safe and recommended, then go for it."
Ding!
[Alien Archive: Operational Dimension releases a nameless nano-AI.]
[The nano-AI merges with the Flying Disc Core... Processing!]
[Merging with the Flying Disc Core... Completed!]
'Nano-AI, you say? What the hell is that?' Grey's expression darkened. He realized that with these technologies, his previous world was basically doomed.
He closed his purple eyes for a moment before heaving a deep sigh.
"Mister... Uh, that disc is floating... Is it perhaps a flying– no, not a spell. Anyway. It looks adorable, similar to a little pigeon." Princess Quintella said.
She then added,
"Mister, I don't know, but when you are talking to the system on your own, don't you think it's awkward? I cannot hear the one you are communicating with and I feel like you are a mentally ill person talking to yourself.
"Well, I am the same, but I am talking without others seeing me. Someone can become mentally ill alone, you know!" Princess Quintella raised her body before facing her savior in this vast forest of nothingness.
'Are little brats this talkative? She just couldn't shut her mouth. Sigh.' Grey inwardly thought.
"You do you. I am just showing you how it's done. In case you don't know, you can talk to the system inside your head, so there's no need to speak verbally."
"Huh? Inside my head? Why I wasn't informed?"
Princess Quintella recalled that the instructions were all 'Say' this and 'Say' that, but it was her mistake as she thought it only referred to verbal action.
"I don't know. Anyway. Continue with your study. I'll start with locating a nearby Goblin Village. But I doubt we'll find it here since you said this place is infested with the undead monsters." Grey mentally operated the Flying Disc Core, which hovered on his shoulders like a newly manufactured drone.
"You'll find something, Mister. Undead Goblins, at the very least."
With that, Princess Quintella activated the Augmented Reality, entering a virtual classroom, while Grey just chuckled at this cheeky brat before beginning the hunt.
***
'Ah, it's a nano-AI but it doesn't have the oral capability; it only obeys commands and doesn't talk back.'
Holding the Flying Disc Core, Grey then muttered, "Find me a Goblin Village, but do not engage with anyone in case there are survivors I haven't known."
Krishnaya then helped.
[Alien Archive: Devourer Dimension releases information about the Undead Goblins...]
[The Flying Disc Core has absorbed the information...]
At that moment, when everything was settled, the Flying Disc Core disappeared like a flash of lightning. It was terrifyingly silent despite its speed.
Witnessing this, Grey had a thought.
'If that's how fast and silent it is, then abducting something or someone with a fully functional Anon Oriken will be a piece of cake...'
The idea of hovering in the air without being seen and suddenly catching someone clueless, leaving no traces, just fascinated him.
