Kapitel 98: Chapter 100: Good Evening, Everyone. Still Working Overtime? So Am I!

Underground Bunker

Peter Pettigrew had long known about his cellmate. However, when he saw Barty Crouch Jr., he couldn't help but feel a bit terrified. Crouch Jr. was one of Voldemort's most loyal Death Eaters.

Luckily, Crouch Jr. didn't know what was happening outside. At that moment, he was lying on the floor, staring at a photo of his mother—which was his only emotional support in the underground bunker.

Peter didn't know any of this. He assumed the entire wizarding world knew about his past. When Crouch Jr.'s cold gaze turned toward him, Peter immediately broke down, crying and confessing everything.

"It wasn't me! I only told the Dark Lord the Potters' location because he ordered me to. I didn't know he'd die there. Please, spare me..."

Crouch Jr.'s expression changed. Although he cherished his mother the most, he remained fiercely loyal to Voldemort. The next moment, he carefully set aside the photo of his mother and rushed at Peter, grabbing him by the collar.

"What did you say... the Potters? Who did you tell? The Dark Lord? Tell me clearly!"

Peter's face turned pale with fear. Under Crouch Jr.'s murderous gaze, Peter hesitantly recounted the past, admitting that he was Voldemort's spy and had revealed the Potters' location under his orders.

Crouch Jr. furiously punched Peter, knocking him to the ground and repeatedly hitting him.

"You scum... you caused all this... how dare you..."

Peter, covering his face, endured the pain and shouted, "I know he's not dead! He can't be dead! I have a way to bring him back!"

"What way?" Crouch Jr. paused.

"The Resurrection Stone! I just heard about the Resurrection Stone!" Peter hastily explained everything he saw at the basement door. "That boy, Wilson, plans to use the Resurrection Stone to bring back your mother's soul!"

Crouch Jr. froze. The Resurrection Stone... could bring back his mother's soul? If it could, she could return home, and he wouldn't feel guilty for her death in Azkaban.

As Crouch Jr.'s mind raced, Peter continued, "It's a legendary artifact. With it, we can definitely bring the Dark Lord back. I have a plan. If we work together..."

Crouch Jr.'s expression grew complicated. If they got the Resurrection Stone, should he revive Voldemort or his mother? Initially, he would have chosen Voldemort without hesitation, but now he was unsure...

"Trust me!" Peter insisted. "If we work together, we can get that stone and bring the Dark Lord back."

—Peter naively believed the Resurrection Stone could fully restore Voldemort, thinking it would make up for his mistakes.

"Let me think about it," Crouch Jr. interrupted, returning to his spot and gazing at his mother's photo.

Basement Door

Wilson stood beside Crouch Sr., waiting for his emotions to settle. Crouch Sr. looked apologetically at Wilson and asked, "Can it really bring the dead back?"

"No," Wilson replied, shaking his head. "I can only summon the souls of the dead. Anyone else using the stone will only see a false spirit."

"Alright... I understand," Crouch Sr. said, looking exhausted and older due to the emotional strain.

"Let's move the Muggle traps in the basement and change the security routes," Wilson ordered.

"Why?" Crouch Sr. asked, puzzled.

"Because some people will always seek death," Wilson said coldly. "They should know that the world is fair and debts must be paid."

Crouch Sr. nodded slowly, understanding Wilson's warning. Any intruder triggering the traps would be blown to pieces.

Returning to the ground floor, Crouch Sr. handed Wilson a bottle of Polyjuice Potion containing Peter's hair. "If someone dies, the potion will lose its effect..."

"I'll use it before he dies, then," Wilson replied indifferently. "No waste that way."

"Well said," Grindelwald remarked, toying with a chain. "Before a person dies, you should squeeze out all their value..."

Grindelwald watched as Wilson drank the potion, transforming into Peter. "What are you planning to do with his identity? Need my help?"

"No need," Wilson replied, his voice turning sharp as he took on Peter's form. "You'll know when I return. Hopefully, it'll go smoothly."

Late Night at the Wizarding Newspaper Office

The newspaper office was busy, especially after reporting on Grindelwald's attack on the Weasley family. This news suggested the start of a war, and they needed to prepare the next edition urgently.

Rita Skeeter was diligently writing the report on Grindelwald's attack, exaggerating to make it more alarming.

For instance, she wrote, "Before leaving, Grindelwald convinced Ginny Weasley, the Weasley family's young daughter, to join him. After just three sentences, the eight-year-old was crying to follow him..."

Such sensationalism was typical for Rita, prioritizing eye-catching stories over truth.

While Rita pondered adding more drama, a spell blasted open the newspaper office doors. In the dust stood a short, fat figure with an evil grin, surveying everyone inside.

"Good evening, everyone. Still working overtime?"

The staff felt a chill. The third Dark Lord, Peter Pettigrew! Had he come because of their revealing articles?

"Mr. Pettigrew, can we help you?" the editor asked calmly. "If you need a story reported, we're a reputable media outlet..."

"Is that so?" Peter's grin widened dangerously. "Then, can you tell me where Rita Skeeter is?"
