This portal represented everything he'd been sworn to secrecy about, and now, he was about to lead a complete stranger through it.

Alex, however, seemed unfazed. He pushed himself off the couch, his expression a mix of determination and controlled excitement. He strode towards the portal, the symbol pulsing faintly on his palm as he drew closer.

"Interesting," he murmured, his gaze fixed on the swirling vortex.

He could feel a strange energy emanating from it, a portal that resonated with the strange interface system embedded within him. "Is there anything I should know before we… step through?"

Rylan hesitated, his mind racing. He didn't know much about the inner workings of the Council, let alone their reaction to an uninvited guest. "Just… be respectful, and whatever you do, don't mention the portal or how I brought you here."
