Kapitel 41: Lady Jacintha

He walked down the elegant halls, his footsteps echoing off the marble floors. The servants bowed in greeting, their light red eyes flicking to him with a mix of surprise and relief. They were glad to see him alone, without Devon's intimidating presence. Anyone would be glad to avoid crossing paths with the Vampire lord.

He ascended the large stairs, covered in plush red rugs that muffled his footsteps. His destination was the King's Throne room, and he had no intention of stopping until he'd delivered the message Devon had sent him to.

As he reached the tall doors leading to the Throne room, the guards bowed deeply. One of the guards stepped forward, disappearing into the room to announce his presence. Seconds later, he returned and gestured to his partner, and together they pushed the large doors open, revealing the throne room, its high ceilings and marble floors reflecting the light from the chandeliers overhead.
