Out of the pigeons Mrs. Shen brought, she used two to make soup and left the rest for her daughter, telling her to cook soup for herself whenever she craved it. Leaving Su Yunjin and Su Ningxiu to talk, Mrs. Shen went to the kitchen to get busy.

Su Yunjin and Su Ningxiu had a good relationship. It had been a while since the sisters had seen each other, and their reunion was especially warm. Staring at Su Yunjin's belly, which hadn't yet shown signs of pregnancy, Su Ningxiu suddenly asked with curiosity, "Little sister, do you think the child in your belly is a girl or a boy?"
