"He really thought you were about to explain everything to him? He was kinda dumb for a thousands of years old self-proclaimed god."

Ethan smiled at Miyuki, closely watching the five tails behind her as he defended the pharaoh who had finally been put to rest, "Give him a rest, he was stuck in a pyramid for thousands of years, that can't have helped his mentality. Besides, he did pause a big danger. He would have killed us all, was it not for…"

He stopped there, but Miyuki finished off, "It really was a vision then?"

Ethan sighed and nodded, explaining, "I didn't even know I had any talent as a seer, but I somehow saw glimpses of what was to happen. Was it not for it, he would have actually succeeded in possessing me."

But even with that knowledge, things had not been easy. Up to the fight of their mindscapes, Ethan had held the advantage thanks to the changes he had brought to the timeline, but once he entered Seth's Mortuary, he was on his own.

Or that's what Ramesses believed. Sure enough, Helene's runes could not reach them inside the artefact, nor could they affect their souls inside, but what he did not know, was that Ethan and Miyuki shared a soul bond.

Actually, Ethan himself did not know that his bond with Miyuki involved their souls, not until he entered Seth's Mortuary. But that bond had allowed Miyuki to stealthily enter as well, and from there, it was the work of her illusions.

Taking his form, Miyuki fooled Ramesses into thinking Ethan was fighting over the artefact's control with him, when in reality, he was busy destroying it.

Ethan had pretended to be greedy all along for a reason. It was not the only bait he had set, but it was the one that had ended up being triggered.

Then, when Ramesses thought his diminishing influence over the artefact was Ethan gaining control over it, it was instead him destroying it.

It was a powerful artefact, but after he assimilated Ramesses' spirit, Ethan's spirit had become quite absurdly strong. Adding to that the fact that Seth's Mortuary was linked to Ramesses' soul, any damage to his soul would result in damage to the artefact, and vice versa.

The soul was a complex subject of magic that still largely remained a mystery to wizards, but it was not something supposed to exist on its own. The absence of a body, and the subsequent assimilation of Ramesses' spirit contributed to damaging Ramesses' soul, thus explaining his more rash personality towards the end.

But the ability to fool him was not entirely due to that. Looking at Miyuki, and more particularly her tails, Ethan said, "Well, that's one theory confirmed."

Miyuki's five tails swirled behind her as she nodded, "Two, actually. My physical body still only has four tails, but my spirit grew a fifth when you assimilated Ramesses' spirit."

Ethan nodded slowly, looking down at the massive mindscape below. After a moment of silence, he said, "Thank you, Miyuki. For always being there."

Miyuki smiled, but then Ethan added teasingly, "Sorry for making your days so long too."

The Kitsune rolled her eyes and disappeared from Ethan's mindscape, although her smile never disappeared.

Meanwhile, Ethan remained behind for a short while, just to make sure all traces of both Ramesses and his artefact had been erased, before returning to his physical body.

Opening his eyes, Ethan saw both of his parents leaning over him, watching him carefully. Before he could do anything, both of them crushed him in a hug, to the point it became hard for him to breath. Still, all he felt was warmth as he partook in it, not saying anything.

It lasted several seconds, before his mother warned, "No more trips."

Ethan chuckled, although internally he disagreed. He would definitely make more of them, one way or another. His luck could not be so rotten that he would meet danger in every one of them, right?

After that, they looked at the either unconscious or detained people left, and Ethan asked, "What should we do with them?"

Henry ruffled his hair, "Don't worry, we'll take care of this. Since they were working for Gringotts, I can't say for sure whether Snyde and Rakepick will be judged here or in Britain, but either way, they will be arrested and thrown into prison."

While his father spoke, Ethan was looking at the immobilized Rakepick with no small amount of hostility. In the end, she had been the one who had put his family in danger.

"We're probably going to have to work on this."

Ethan looked at his father with raised eyebrows, who explained, "You are projecting your emotions. Your mind has gotten too strong, too fast. Your mother and I are trained, but if you walk among regular people in your current state, you might harm them."

This made him frown as he closed his eyes, and restricted his spirit. If there was one thing he was proud of, it was his control, so losing it was unacceptable. Fortunately, it should not take long to regain.

Ethan did wonder about one thing however, and that was where he stood in the realm of mind mages. His finer control had definitely gone down a notch from the assimilation, and even if it was before it, Ethan knew he was no match in terms of techniques to the likes of his father, not to mention the likes of Dumbledore. But while technique was important, sheer power also played a role.

That was a question for later though, as they had other things to deal with now.

They brought everyone out of the temple, only to find a large crowd to be waiting for them outside. They seemed to belong to different groups, and Ethan could spot Aurors from at least two different countries, going by their outfits.

What were they doing there?

Several parties approached them, and before they could speak, Henry asked, "Is there a problem?"

One of the Aurors in the crowd, whom Ethan now recognized as the female Auror he had met in the Market of the Sun, asked, "A massive spike in magic was detected here, and it brought a lot of attention."

She eyed the other parties present with clear hostility as she said this, but she was largely ignored as another person exclaimed, "It was felt all the way over from France! Do you think you'll hog this all to yourself?"

Another person butted in, "This was an expedition sanctioned by Gringotts!"

Several more voices rose up, and soon it turned into a shouting contest as they all tried to one up one another, thinking the loudest would somehow be right.

That was until a figure stepped out of the crowd. He was a middle-aged man, slightly older than Ethan's parents, with salt and pepper hair. He was quite tall, and was dressed in a long black coat. He also had sharp features, all of which gave him a certain presence.

One could feel they were standing in the presence of someone powerful.

Whoever the man was, everyone turned quiet the moment he showed up. He ignored the people who had been arguing, and walked up to the group of explorers. The middle aged man looked at each of them, his gaze lasting a little longer when it fell on Ethan.

He quietly examined them, before speaking in a voice that was not too low nor too loud, "This matter has officially entered the jurisdiction of the International Confederation of Wizards."

That was a polite way to tell the crowd to piss off.
