The giant orb did not offer any resistance as Ethan easily stepped in. The moment he did however, he felt himself being cut off from everything else.

Then, Ramesses appeared in front of him, and said, "You think you've won? I'm sure you've felt it, no one can help you here. You are within Seth's Mortuary, the artefact gifted to me by the gods."

Alone? Ethan found that interesting.

He looked around, and said, "I may be alone, but I have taken over your spirit. All that's left of you is a whisper of what you once were."

Ramesses still smile, pleased with what Ethan had said. "You think that matters? Your spirit matters not here, only your soul. And it doesn't matter what outside interferences there are. There is no more running. No more tricks."

Ethan narrowed his eyes, and asked, "Is that so?"

A light mist spread out from him, making Ramesses laugh, "You think your spell from earlier will help you? Your soul is your very essence, and once destroyed, there is no more coming back. But don't worry, I will not destroy it. I will assimilate you."

Ethan only raised an eyebrow, the mist still spreading, "And what is giving you this confidence? Seth's Mortuary? Once I've dealt with you, it will be mine, but I would not mind learning more about it now."

Ramesses clicked his tongue, chiding, "It is a soul artefact, and the most powerful one there is. With it, I reached the very limits of magic, and pushed them back over and over. I can control people with a thought, obliterate houses with a snap of my fingers, and lord as the mightiest of kings, as a god, thanks to it! And today, I will take over your body thanks to it."

Ethan suddenly felt a strong force being exerted on him from all directions, attempting to crush him. But at the same time, Ethan commanded his mindscape to pressure the orb as well. His surroundings started shaking as the pressure he was feeling diminished, and he turned to Ramesses.

Manipulating his soul was an entirely new feeling to Ethan, yet despite his current form, it somehow felt natural as a bullet-like projectile was fired at Ramesses. It only resulted in a chink in his form, but Ramesses looked shocked as he held the missing part as if he was in great pain, and exclaimed, "How is this possible!? You should not be able to manipulate your soul so easily!"

Ethan looked at the panicking pharaoh coldly, the gears in his mind rapidly turning. Ramesses was playing into his hand. He was trying to use Ethan's 'pride' and 'greed'.

So Ethan gave him exactly what he wanted as a grin appeared on his face, and he said, "You have no idea what I am capable of!"

Ironically, that was true. Just not in the way Ramesses thought.

Ethan did have to give it to the ancient pharaoh though, his acting was really on point as his mask remained airtight. He looked angry, hurt, and a little afraid. He even started stepping back as Ethan followed up with more attacks.

Ramesses mustered up some defence, and even threw some counter-attacks, but they were too weak to do anything to Ethan. Ethan was dominating him so badly, despite the suppression of the artefact, that he almost believed for a second that Ramesses was actually helpless before him, and he really did have an uncanny talent in manipulating his soul.

But soon, the true purpose of Ramesses' actions was revealed as they walked through the darkness. There was a small rectangular pillar, and the moment it entered their sight, Ramesses suddenly threw himself at it.

This left his defence completely opened, and Ethan, who had been getting better with every attack at manipulating his soul, blew off his whole left leg as punishment.

Ramesses screamed from the pain, but his eyes burned with a feverish light as he reached the pillar. Ethan threw another attack, but it was completely neutralized before it could approach Ramesses. At the same time, the pressure which Ethan had been feeling since he entered the orb started rapidly increasing.

Ramesses had regained his regal air by now, as if nothing in the world could harm him as he said, "You put up a good fight, child, but I've won."

The pressure increased with every moment, and Ethan tried to throw several more attacks, but they were up to no avail. Ramesses looked at him cockily, as if daring to touch the pillar.

Ethan paid him no mind, and looked into the darkness. He stared for a couple of seconds, during which the mist around him increased in size, nearly covering him entirely, before he walked up to the pillar, and placed both hands on it. The moment he did, Ramesses' grin turned crazed as he yelled, "How greedy you are, boy! You think you can wrestle away my control over Seth's Mortuary? Foolish child!"

Their surroundings started shaking intensely, the shadows thinned slightly and Ramesses felt his control over his prized artefact actually lessen ever so slightly. His eyes widened in true shock for the first time in thousands of years as he looked at Ethan.

A part of him wanted to deny it, because it should be impossible, yet the shaking only intensified, and his connection to the orb was getting weaker with every moment.

His shock rapidly turned into rage as he roared, "How is this possible! Seth's Mortuary was merged into my soul by Seth himself! I have ascended to become a god! How could you possibly wrestle it away from me?"

Ethan smiled mischievously, and for a moment, his canines seemed to have become fangs as he said, "I'm just better than you. It's mine!"

The trembling once again intensified, and now felt like they were standing in the middle of an earthquake. The shadows around them had thinned so much that Ethan's mindscape was once again becoming visible, although barely.

Meanwhile, Ethan, who still had his hands on the pillar, said, "You know, my days can get pretty long. Most people ignore me, which honestly, is part of the strategy, but that doesn't stop it from getting boring, so I got to say, this was fun. Actually speaking to someone, and having some fun for them. And if that's of any consolation, you did better than the last one."

Ramesses did not feel fear. He was a god. Gods could not be afraid. And gods did not lose.

"You think you've won? No one can wrestle it away from me, no one!"

Ramesses no longer cared about anything else, he started sacrificing all the souls he still had some influence over to crush Ethan where he stood, resulting in the shadows around them becoming even fainter.

And this time, it did have an effect as Ethan's form started becoming blurrier, and he was finding it hard to keep his hands on the pillar. Across him, Ramesses once again felt his metaphysical heart start beating as he screamed, "Can't you see?! You are nothing before me! I am a king worshipped by millions, I have ascended to become the equals of gods, while you are nothing but a child!"

Ethan looked like he was about to fade away, his soul dissipating, he looked up at Ramesses and said with a mocking smile, "You know, it's hard to take someone who keeps shouting seriously. The last one was the same with Ethan."

Ramesses paused for a moment out of sheer incredulity as he asked, "What are you talking-"

"She's right, you talk too much."

Ramesses felt his heart stop as he heard a familiar voice behind him. He looked over his shoulder, and saw Ethan, floating in the air, right at the edge of what remained of Seth's Mortuary. He was not alone either, as a large five tailed fox was flying next to him.

He looked back at the Ethan fighting him over the pillar, just in time to see him dissipate into a faint mist.

He looked back at the pair, only to see they were already out of the artefact. Then, he, along with Seth's Mortuary, were crushed into nothingness.
