Kapitel 187: Domestic Sleep

Thanks to the uniqueness of his affliction. Derek had never felt confident enough to spend the night with anyone that he was interested in. And because he and his exes did not spend the night together. He had never woken up with anybody else next to him.

So Emily was a first for him, in many ways.

It did not matter that the bed sharing was strictly platonic with no sexual intimacy involved.

It was still a milestone in Derek's book. And as he blinked awake on Saturday morning, for once his body being the one to decide that it was time to wake up instead of the shrill cry of an alarm. Or like that one memorable time…Emily's scream. 

It was nice.

Waking up like that, and rather than instantly going into active mode and starting to do things that needed doing, or getting ready for something. Derek just lay in bed, enjoying the heavy feeling that came with trying to shake off a good night's rest.
