Kapitel 28: 27 . Attributes
POV : MIKAEL
Mika saw how then the short man regained his composure and looked back at the robed woman . His earlier readiness was pulled back as the woman now took over .
" You're a beginner right . " Mika nodded his head . From the moment he arrived , he accepted that the three had known of his situation . How they did, he did not know .
" You're curious how we know . Your name is hidden . A privaledge the realm gives to beginer contestants . " The robed woman was being awfully kind with her explanation but Mika did not mind .
" For you earlier question , we accept the terms . " The lady said and why not . No matter which angle you looked at they were on the winning side but something told her to not be completely ruthless .
" But we'll add another additional 5000 points for the chips .A gift to a forming friendship " She was smiling kindly but Mika saw the intelligence behind her eyes . What she planned by doing this he did not mind . He for once noticed her golden yellow eyes and he could not help but be attracted to them . They had a certain depth which held hidden mysteries .
The chips were of high-Tier white grade and that was why he did not mind to sell them for practically nothing . The special one he had kept for himself .
The following event followed an amiable procedure . The two parties signed a contract and Mika now waited for the information to be given for him ta transfer the chips .
" We will start with the active attribute " The short man once again took over the conversation . " Strength , agility and physique . The first group with each one linked to the other ."
" Strength affects how much power you can exert with you body . Pushing , pulling , lifting e.t.c . It also relates to the damage of melee attacks . "
" Agility dictates fast you are , your respond time and your dexterity . " The short paused , going over his thoughts . " Combined with strength , It affects the overall control one has over their body . Physique is even more special when compared to the three . "
" Physique influences your defense , stamina , vitality, flexibility , HP and your HP regeneration rate . The lower the value of your physique , the quicker you get tired , the easier it is to injure you and the slower your HP regeneration would be . But physique is not also such an easy to understand thing . Be cautious with it. "
Mika was realizing the importance of physique and why his own was so high . If there was something he was confident about himself was his body constitution .
" The next group consists of perception , intelligence and charisma . "
The muscular man took over and his voice was both rough and silent . Mika felt like the man was looking at him and at the same time he was not . But he felt the sharpness he gave out
" Perception reflects your senses . It allows you to sense danger , other people's intentions and certain oddities. "
Mika was not very surprised with the explanation . He had been making use of the attribute even in his other world and with his innate ability , he was better than most at using his senses and detecting people's intentions .
" But it's also has it's own drawbacks when used on stronger contestants . The higher the gap between you and the the higher the chances for perception to fail . You should be wary of using it on stronger contestants , they might either trick you or use it against you . "
That was good for Mika to know . It could mean that the only reason he was able to kill the two contestants from the terminator world was due to his high perception .
" Intelligence is a measure of Mana within you . MP is consumed for using skills , certain items and it is also a requirement for certain missions to be triggered . "
Mika had realized that he was very average in that dipartment and why not . He did not know that such a thing could exist and to his knowledge in his previous world , their was no such thing as mana .
But he himself did not realise that while using his skill , a certain amount of mana had been consumed . He had been able to do what he was already doing here in his original world . Could that mean that he was using mana without knowing .
' SCOFF ' The thought was almost too insulting for someone such as himself .
" Charisma tells how well you interactions with characters in random world will be . The higher your charisma the easier the interaction and the lower the worst the interaction . It is not very effective against contestants but you don't look like you have a problem with that one . " The robbed lady had taken over the explanation as she winked his way . The short man loudy scoffed as Mika offered a small smile .
Mika remembered how he easily interacted with the young Sarah Connor and that was the most likely reason . If his charisma was lower , Sarah might have refused to trust him and he could have probably failed to reach max favourability with her .
" The last grouped ones are some of the most mysterious . " The robbed lady had finally taken over the explanation . " Luck first of all affects mission rewards , encounters and triggering of certain missions or random events . But having high luck isn't necessarily good . It might force you into dangerous scenarios . It actually depends on what you consider being lucky . "
Mika recalled luck was his second highest attribute and he knew his future was going to be very harsh .
" You can consider worth the most devious attribute . It is considered as an evaluation done by the towers judgement after your resurrection and after future missions . Worth can be considered as a sort of rank the tower gives contestants . The higher your worth is , the more privilege the system will offer you during a mission and the more likely you are to be in dangerous situations . "
Mika was now worried . He knew his own worth well enough to understand the hardship he would face . And combined with his luck , he could already smell the coming storm
" What if you strength doesn't match your worth ? " Mika was curious . Would he be sent to an overwhelmingly strong world just because of his worth .
" It is highly unlikely for that to happen but if it did occur . " She stopped as if judging her very words . " DEATH !!"
Their was silence that quickly passed after awhile .
" The last attribute and the most mysterious is an inter-changeable one depending on you original home world . It can based be described as a defferent energy system . For example Ki , chakra etc . But the most common of the energy system can be considered to be soul power which is based of the breath attribute . "
Mika was more curious about this specialised power . He also had the soul power and why not . Every living being had a soul , so how exactly was the power of the soul countified .
" Breath has been theorised to be related to the soul more specifically the spiritul energy the soul has . The more of it you have the better . But , having low breath isn't necessarily a problem . Most people have the breadth attribute without using it due to not much being known about it or either prefering to proritize other attributes . "
Mika was conflicted with the information . Breath was his highest attribute meaning not using it was wasting his potential but with the already lack of information relating to it would he give up like many other seemed to do .
NO ! Mika would not accept that . If breath was related to the soul , and the soul could be considered part of the body . What was stopping his innate ability from taking effect .
His innate ability allowed him to have complete controll over his own body . Yes , at this moent he was limited in the control he had but what about the future . If that controll was perfected to the point he could touch the soul , would he not have achieved his goal .
Was this the mystery that prevented other contestants from making use of their breath . Mika could only theorise .
" The three first missions are easy to explain . You can think of it as a sort of trial ground where the not so strong beginer contestants are eliminated . A place where normally the random worlds would be extremely dangerous but their danger has been significantly lowered to allow for beginer cotestats to maximize their growth at the start of their journey " The short man explained in the most easy to understand way possible .
Mika found it rather interesting . Truthfully , he had felt that the Terminator random world was more dangerous than what he faced . Skynet could have chosen to send a T-1000 at the begining of the first day and Mika would have died immediately but that did not happen .
It meant that any other time he went to the Termiator world , he should be prepaired for the worst .
" And finally , concerning the land outside the infinite tower , the best way to explain would be with a story . "
The muscular man took over . He seemed to go over his thoughts and Mika could see the sparkle in his eyes and the excitement he spoke with . Regardless , his voice was still slow and silent .
" Once long ago , their was a contestant a very strong one who failed a mission so important , that the system deemed him unworthy . But the contestant , denied this faith . He denied to be used and to be thrown away by the system due to one failure . "
" So , he burgained with the overseer of the Infinite Tower . To be given a second chance . For another opportunity at redemption ."
" And the overseer agreed . But it came with a cost . He was stripped of his worth and dispelled from the tower to the outer lands .
The muscular man spoke with an air of clarity and respect . As if the tale had happened and he was there to witness it .
" And then what ? " Mika was actually curiouse about the tale Was that what happened when you lost all your worth . were you banished to the outside worlds . That did not seem harsh but with how Mika understood the Tower , would it be that generous
" After countless years had passed , no one knows if he ever regained his worth or not but he did do something never before seen before disappearing ."
The muscular man stopped for dramatic effect , squeezing every moment of the silence
"In that ancient era , when war was as constant as day and night . With his power alone , he built the first kingdom ever in the outer lands of the tower . An impossibility made possible due to his shear strength . " Mikael noticed a certain level of obsession as the man spoke .
" After a while , he vanished . And that is why no one tries to complain or wage war with the kingdom built around the tower . They fear he might one day return !!! "
Mika felt varying level of emotion . At least he had finally got a answer that was satisfying enough even if it sounded like some sort of fairy tale . But , if this guy had disappeared , who was in charge of the kingdom . His descendants or did it become autonomous . Could contestants even have kids .
But why was he feeling such a way , Like a fire was burning in his veins . Like his blood had become red hoot . Like a war drum was going off in his heart .
The answer was simple . POWER !!! That power that man had shown . Even when he was thrown away by the Tower , That was the power Mikael desired . The strength to crush everything with his very presence .
" What was his name ? "
Curiosity was something Mika never failed to have . What could the name of a figure who had done the impossible be .
" His name was never known but , his code name can never be forgotten . Passed down through out history and we remember it as . . . !! "
Mika wondered why this muscular guy was being so dramatic with giving him something so simple. He was holding back from slapping the man with all the pauses he was doing . But he could still appreciate the solemn atmosphere he brought . His two companions also looked to be used to this and did not question what he was doing .
" . . . THE EMPEROR OF MANKIND !!! "
