Kapitel 12: Steve Rogers
A young man's eyes sluggishly open from deep slumber. His blue eyes were exposed to the lighting of the room faintly complimenting his blonde hair.
It took a couple of seconds for him to recollect himself as memories flashed in his mind.
He recalled fighting the man known as the Red Skull on the Valkyrie and then...
Some images seem foggy but he remembered crashing into the Atlantic Ocean along with the Valkyrie ship and after that...
'It's all blank...' Steve rubbed his forehead and finally looked around him.
After getting a hold of himself he sat up with a jerk and stood up immediately.
'Where am I?' he thought.
While he was thinking this, a door opened and what looked like a living amour to Steve walked in and said, "You're awake."
Steve looked at the talking red and gold armour and assumed a man was wearing it. He immediately got on the defensive and asked, "Who are you and where am I?"
"Firstly you don't need to be on the defensive as you are not on enemy grounds. As for who or what I am, you can call me Iron Man."
"What?"
"I am Iron Man. A creation of Mr. Tony Stark."
The armours helmet opened to reveale a robotic head within and closed back immediately.
Steve was very surprised by what he saw but his mind told hold one key information.
"Tony Stark, that is your master? Is he related to Howard Stark in any way?" Steve stood upright but still on guard.
'A facility with such an advanced machine can be anything but ordinary. It's even possible it might be a more dangerous base than that of hydra.' he thought.
'I must of have been in coma for a long time but how long?' while he was thinking, I.R.O.N. M.A.N answered.
"Indeed Captain Rogers, Tony Stark is related to the Late Howard Stark."
"What? Howard is dead?"
"Yes Sir, Mr. Tony Stark is his son."
Steve's eyes widen as he had a bad feeling suddenly. Initially he felt that he might have been in coma for a few years or so but now.
"I think I'll take it from hear I.R.O.N M.A.N," a voice was heard from a speaker in the room.
"Bring Captain Rogers to me."
"Understood, Sir. Right this way Captain Rogers. Kr Stark has a lot to show you," without waiting for a response, the robot turned and led Steve outside the room.
Steve was silent as he followed behind while still finding it hard to believe all that he had just heard.
But looking at the technologies he couldn't fathom its use around him he felt that his fears might be true but things still needed to be confirmed.
Finally they entered where looked like a sitting room where a man was sitted with a giant hologram in front him and a glass of wine in his hand.
When Tony heard the metallic sound of I.R.O.N M.A.N's entry, he thought to himself, 'I need to add a noise cancelling upgrade to his suit.'
While he thought this, he stood and turned, "Welcome Cap, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Iron man stood aside as Tony gave Steve a handshake, 'Strong,' he thought.
Steve was silent as he just stared at Tony before saying, "You do indeed bear some resemblance to Howard."
"Oh, I'll assume that's a compliment. My father had a lot to say about you. You were one of the few men he genuinely respected."
Steve nodded but said nothing.
"I understand you have a lot of questions but first let me show you something."
Tony turned to the holographic screen in front of him and made a gesture and then one newspaper after another began to play out and some included video content from the time of Captain America's 'departure' to the current times.
After this was done, Steve Rogers was shocked and speechless.
"A whole lot has happened, a whole lot has changed, and I slept through it?" He muttered to himself.
Steve had never felt so lost before and then he thought of something he wanted to avoid thinking about.
'Is she still alive?'
Tony saw Steve's almost hopeless expression and sighed, "I understand this must be a lot for you to take in, but you just need to spend some time adapting which might take time."
Steve looked at Tony and nodded, "Thank you very much for your help, Tony."
He didn't say more than that as there were many thoughts in his heart.
Tony saw this and smiled, "Actually, things might not be as bad as you think. Later on I'll take for a tour around New York City, just to help you understand the current times and after that, I might have a surprise for you."
"A surprise?"
"Don't worry you'll know when you see it."
