Hey, long time no see, so I've been trying to write this part for forever. Always deleting and rewriting and this is the best out come. I know it's short and all but it is what it is.
I'm still learning how to do transitions and the lot so please do bear with me. I have also been struggling with committing with a big life change so this was in the back of my mind for while.

Ps- also made a slight change for when he was born and will edit it in the previous chapter. It won't come up till the next chapter. So no need to reread just to find it.

Location: Russia/Kazakhstan border
Date: April 24th, 1999
(Lawrence POV)
After driving for 4 1/2 hours to reach to border the sun finally started to set. Still have another hour and a half to go till we react Saykhin right across the border. Then we can switch cars and drive south from there till we react a private airfield used for smuggling.
I pull into a petrol station to fill up the tank and grab some food and drinks. I wouldn't of even bothered with this if it wasn't for the kid. Looking over at him I see that he is sound asleep. That was definitely a whirlwind of events for him to experience in such a short amount of time. From finding out I'm his father, to being pushed into me arms by his mother and being told in not so many words that that moment would be the last time they would see each other. From the look on Pietro's face when they exchanged those last words, he knew it too.
Definitely smarter than he appears to be.
After making sure he was fine, I got out and started filling up the tank, scanning the surroundings for anything and everything suspicious. If Natasha didn't kill them all then they would most definitely be coming after us. Which is highly doubtful since you never get between a parent and their child. They will fight to hell and back for them. Especially her. There was nothing more in this world that she wanted then to be a parent.
"At least you got six years before shit hit the fan." I whispered to myself while putting the gas pump back in its holster and closing up the intake.
Checking on Pietro one last time I make my way into the station to buy a few things. Food, water, and a burner phone. I'm really not looking forward to the call I'm gonna have to make once we cross the border. Paula is going to gut me when I tell her about the kid. And that's if she's not in a bad mood either.
Paying for everything, I make my way back to the car. Still checking the surroundings and finding nothing of note.
Getting in and placing everything in the back, I crack open the burner and got the phone ready for when I will need it.
Starting the car up, I pulled out of the station and hit the road again with only around 30 minutes till the border. I started heading that way. Making sure to take the back roads.
About 30 minutes later we finally reach the border, slowing down, I check the area to make sure there are no border guards around before driving across. Quite thankful for the lack of monitoring of this particular back road since there is nothing around for miles.
After crossing I start driving and making way to Saykhin to ditch this car for another one.
After driving for about another hour, Pietro woke up. I'm honestly surprised he slept for about six hours. Most of been pretty mentally exhausted.
"Где мы?"
(Where are we?)
He asks as he sits up to look around.
"English kid, and we are in Saykhin Kazakhstan. Crossed the border an hour ago." I tell him as I park the car.
"Oh." Is all he says. Looking around before his eyes settle on me. It looked like he was going to ask me something but before he could his stomach grumbled.
I let out a small chuckle and reach in the back to grab some food and water. Handing it to him I tell him to eat quickly because we have to move still.
Not even 5 minutes later and he was done with all the food I gave him and downed the water like a man who was dying of thirst.
I quirked up an eyebrow at that but don't comment as I grabbed the backpack and put the rest of the food and water in it then we both got out the car.
"Let's go. Stick close and don't wonder off. Am I understood?" I say to Pietro in a stern no bull shit voice.
Looking at him, he nods his head yes, and starts following me. We head to a vehicle I stashed before meeting Natasha and it doesn't take long before arriving.
We get to the truck and I tell him to get in and buckle up before doing the same after securing everything. Then I start driving out of town. Heading southeast into the desert to an abandoned airfield that is used for smuggling.

(3rd POV)
After driving for another few hours, Lawrence and Pietro finally come upon the airfield, seeing the plane idling on the runway waiting for them. On the road Lawrence made two calls with the burning he bought back in Russia, one to the pilot to be ready, and the other to his wife, Paula, telling her that he'll be back in around a day give or take a few hours and that he's being his son back with him.
There was not enough words in the English language for her to use over the phone to describe the rage and betrayal she felt when she heard those words. Before hanging up she made sure to let him know that they WILL be talking more about this when they both get back to Gotham.
Lawrence grabbed the backpack and both he and Pietro got out of the truck and made their way up to the cargo plane. Once aboard he strapped Pietro into his seat and told the pilot to take off before also strapping in.
"It's going to be a long 14 hour flight."
Lawrence muttered before closing his eyes to catch some sleep. Not wanting to think about the hell waiting for him when he land.
