VALENCIA'S POV
"I never thought we would meet like this," Alfonso said.
I hummed. Maverick had given us only 10 minutes, but strangely, all the things I wanted to say and ask felt useless.
We sat in silence for a couple of minutes before I bit my lips.
"I wished I could help you. You saved my life once, and if possible, I want to repay you in this lifetime. But I won't go against my man," I whispered.
I know it sounded a little selfish and rude, and I should've helped him, especially when I knew the other side of the story and how hard it was for both the guys, but Maverick wasn't wrong.
They just misunderstood Alfonso.
If I went ahead and told him everything that I knew or felt was right, he would blame Alfonso again and think he had manipulated me just like he was able to manipulate his mate seven years ago.
Increasing the growing difference between the brothers was the last thing I wanted to happen.
