Author's POV:
The cavernous halls of the sprawling Huang family villa resonated with a constant din of frenzied activity as staff members rushed about under Huang Jiang's relentless barking.
"No, no, you idiots! Those floral arrangements are all wrong!" the elderly patriarch hollered at a cluster of hapless decorators in the east wing's ballroom entrance. "Rip it all out and start over - I want peonies and orchids only! Didn't I make myself clear?"
The poor workers could only nod frantically and scatter to obey as Huang Jiang let out a noise of pure aggravation. Nearby, his sassy granddaughter Huang Yanyan watched the spectacle with an amused smirk.
"Jeez, Gramps, you're going to give yourself a coronary before the night is through if you keep carrying on like a drill sergeant," she lightly teased, drifting over to link her arm through his. "Everything is going to be perfect, courtesy of your small army of terrified staff."
