The roar of engines finally started to fade as Liu Bin and I brought our snarling beasts back to the pit lane, wheeling in alongside each other with a heady mix of residual adrenaline and smug male satisfaction thrumming through my veins. Despite that faux-casual front he always tries to cultivate, I could see the naked admiration flickering across my oldest friend's features even in the dimness.

I'd absolutely decimated Liu Bin out there tonight, leaving every last one of his overstated hot rod antics choking on a thick plume of scorched rubber in my wake. Not that I gave any outward indication of acknowledging the vast disparity in our skills and sheer masculine prowess when it came to taming these untamed juggernauts of machismo.
