Hearing the crowd address her as His Royal Highness Onihime and call Kaido the boss filled Yamato's heart with pride and admiration once again.
Time passed quickly, and soon they were standing atop Onigashima,

Wearing a revealing white kimono and wielding a mace like Kaido's, Yamato tilted her head quizzically and asked,
"What are you teaching me this time, Dad?"
"You're going to learn the two skills needed to become a great leader," Kaido responded casually, confident the power was active.
"What are those?" Yamato's naive confusion was almost visible, her hair standing on end in bewilderment.
The empowerment worked with each strike of the mace, increasing in effectiveness with sustained use.
Kaido reviewed the simple description in his mind and, satisfied, turned his focus back to Yamato, his muscles tensing in preparation.
"It's something you'll have to experience for yourself."
With a swift motion, he propelled himself across the ground,
Yamato stared, struck by surprise, as Kaido charged toward her.
Without hesitation, Kaido swung the mace at her waist and abdomen.
He was restrained, avoiding aiming at the head. He expected Yamato to manage a few moves, especially now that without the Seastone handcuffs, there was no suppression. With her talent, she should be capable of handling it. Yet, Yamato could only reactively position the iron rod as a shield. Such a defense stood little chance against Kaido; only by directly confronting him could she hope to hold her ground.
With a loud "bang," Yamato absorbed the impact. The shockwave from the iron rod coursed through her hand, sending her flying backward to land at a distance. Kaido's brow furrowed slightly. Perhaps her body hadn't fully adjusted to the memory modification?
"Ah, it hurts!" Yamato exclaimed as she stood up, shaking her hand. It seemed minor, though she was grinning through the pain and blowing on her swollen wrist adorably.
"Say hello before attacking, Daddy!" Yamato demanded, giving him a peevish look.
"No one on the battlefield will greet you first," Kaido replied, his voice deep and low, crushing her innocent notion. As he moved closer, he said sternly, "Get up; you're Kaido's daughter!"
Seizing the moment, Yamato attempted to thrust the mace into Kaido's abdomen, but he effortlessly countered with his mace, halting hers.
"You learn quickly," Kaido noted, smiling as he saw her determination flare up.
An unseen energy surged into Yamato from above, causing her to shiver. It was as though her senses and mind had unlocked, and she realized that taking her father's blow directly was a tactical error, putting her at a disadvantage. She shouldn't have struck thoughtlessly but should have waited for a vulnerability.
Is my Armament Haki getting stronger? She puzzled over the increase in power and volume. And there was a special force on her father's mace...

Her mind and body synchronized subtly. She was mastering techniques effortlessly, her physical strength and Haki growing stronger.

"You're not there yet," Kaido retorted with amusement.
Disbelieving, Yamato charged, a smile in her eyes as her iron rod swept towards Kaido.
