Initially, Tyler thought Britta was merely messing with him. Their recent encounter left her quite embarrassed, and she wanted to get even. However, as the young man stared into the barrel of the sawed-off shotgun and then into the girl’s determined eyes, he realized it was a tense situation.

“Why are you concerned about whether I go into the woods? I have important business there, and the path opens up only during a full moon. The Dalmatian map says so.”

Britta scoffed, still pointing the gun at him. “I know very well where you are going. But you have no idea.”

Tyler raised an eyebrow. “I am waiting to be enlightened by your information on the Green Monk.”

“There’s no Green Monk! He isn’t real and exists only in old wives’ tales!”

“On the contrary, he needs to be real for my journey to be successful. I am okay with failing to find him. Now, if there’s nothing else, I am running out of time.”
