Kapitel 133: Chapter 111 –The Mutant (4)

As the X-Men faced off against Magneto and his allies, Professor Xavier stayed firm in his belief that peace was possible. Even though Magneto and his group were a serious danger, Xavier held onto the hope that they could still be persuaded to abandon their destructive path.

"Remember, everyone," Professor X reminded his team, his voice calm yet resolute. "Our goal is to protect innocent lives and prevent any further harm. We need to be careful and try to find a peaceful solution whenever we can."

Cyclops, always loyal to his role as leader, nodded firmly. "Got it, Professor," he said, his voice showing his strong resolve to follow Charles's guidance.

With their objectives clear, the X-Men prepared to confront Magneto and his mutant allies head-on. As they approached the scene of the chaos, their jet plane descended gracefully, landing with precision amidst the wreckage and destruction.

But before they could disembark from the jet, Proffesor X's telepathic senses detected a presence nearby. "Wait," he cautioned, his brow furrowing with concern. "Someone else is already engaging Magneto and his forces."

"Spider-Man," Proffesor X murmured, his voice filled with admiration. "He's already there, confronting Magneto."

Magneto's gaze narrowed with recognition as he observed my actions, his expression unreadable. "You are the Legendary Spider-Man," he remarked, his tone tinged with a hint of respect.

But before I could say anything, Quicksilver interjected, his voice strained with pain as he clutched his chest.

"Sp-Spider M-Man, is it really you?" Quicksilver asked, his voice strained and full of pain

I couldn't believe Quicksilver got hurt like that. I mean, for crying out loud. How did he get injured?

"Kid, who beat you?" I asked, my voice firm with concern.

Quicksilver barely managed to speak, "Th-That guy you webbed and threw away," he managed to say, his breath ragged.

Turning my attention to Quicksilver pointed finger, I saw the figure he indicated, the one I had webbed and thrown away earlier.

As I turned my attention to the figure Quicksilver had pointed out, I felt a surge of concern mingled with determination. With a mental command, I activated my AI system to assess the situation and provide me with the individual's status.

"System, can you show me his status?" I requested, urgency evident in my tone.

The AI responded promptly, "Affirmative, Host. Initiating... Ding."

A holographic display materialized before my eyes, showcasing the vital information about the mysterious assailant. As I scanned the data, my eyes widened in surprise and realization.

Name: Johny Lotwen

Alias: Aper

Age: 28

Nationality: Canadian

Affiliation: Magneto's Mutant Brotherhood

Attributes:

Adaptability: Johny possesses the unique mutant ability to rapidly adapt to any situation or environment within minutes, allowing him to overcome challenges and threats with ease. This adaptability extends to physical, mental, and environmental factors, making him highly versatile and resilient in a variety of circumstances.

Skills:

Combat Adaptation: Johny can quickly analyze and adapt to his opponents' fighting styles and tactics during combat, gaining a strategic advantage by predicting their moves and countering effectively.

Environmental Adaptation: Johny's adaptability enables him to thrive in diverse environments and climates, from extreme heat to freezing cold, by adjusting his body's physiology to suit the conditions.

Mental Adaptation: Johny's adaptability extends to his mental faculties, allowing him to rapidly learn new skills, languages, and information, as well as resist psychological attacks and manipulation.

Weaknesses:

Time Limit: While Johny's adaptation abilities are powerful, they have a limited duration, typically lasting for a few minutes before reverting to his baseline state. He must continuously assess and adapt to new challenges to maintain his advantage.

Overwhelm: Johny's rapid adaptation can sometimes be overwhelming, especially in chaotic or rapidly changing situations, leading to sensory overload or decision paralysis.

Vulnerability to Unpredictability: Despite his adaptability, Johny may struggle against opponents or scenarios that are highly unpredictable or chaotic, as his abilities rely on patterns and predictability to function effectively.

Background:

Born with the mutant ability of rapid adaptation, Johny Lotwen, nicknamed Aper, has spent his life mastering his unique powers and using them to navigate the world around him. With the ability to quickly adapt to any situation, Johny has become a formidable asset in various fields.

As I absorbed the information displayed by the Spider-Man System, I couldn't help but marvel at Aper's remarkable abilities. His power to adapt in real-time to any situation made him a formidable opponent, especially in combat scenarios.

But despite his impressive skills, Aper also had his weaknesses. His adaptability had a time limit, and he could be overwhelmed in chaotic situations or against unpredictable opponents. These weaknesses provided valuable insights into potential strategies for defeating him.

Before I could even start planning, Magneto's voice interrupted us like a sudden clap of thunder.

"Are you really the legendary Spider-Man?" Magneto's voice rang out, filled with a mix of surprise and skepticism.

I met his gaze squarely. "Yes, I am," I affirmed, my voice steady despite the unexpected turn of events.

Magneto's disbelief was evident as he stammered, "B-but I thought it was just a rumor that you are back."

A smirk tugged at the corners of my mouth. "It seems like you're outdated, Man," I retorted with confidence. "I AM BACK!!"

Before Magneto could respond to my declaration, the sound of a jet approaching drew our attention, signaling the arrival of unexpected people.

The jet landed smoothly in the middle of all the chaos, catching everyone's attention, including mine and Magneto's. The ramp opened, and It was the X-Men who stepped out and ready to fight.

Just as expected, the X-Men showed up, all set to jump into the fight. But before they could start joining me, Professor X quickly told each member what to do. He made sure they knew that keeping regular people safe was the most important thing right then.

 .....

[X-men Side]

"Storm, Rogue, protect the civilians. Let them get away from here," Professor X directed urgently as the X-Men prepared for the upcoming confrontation.

"Got it, Professor," Storm replied, her voice carrying authority as she summoned winds to guide the panicked crowd to safety.

Rogue looked determined as she flew up, checking for anyone who might still need help. "I'll make sure everyone's safe," she said firmly, her Southern accent clear above the battle noise.

As Storm and Rogue worked on getting people to safety, the other X-Men got ready to face Magneto and his crew. Cyclops, being the planner he is, told everyone what to do. He was clear and determined about it.

"Wolverine, Beast, you're with me," Cyclops commanded, his voice cutting through the chaos. "We need to keep Magneto and his forces occupied while Professor X tries to reason with him."

Wolverine grunted in agreement, his claws glinting in the sunlight as he prepared for battle. "Just point me in the right direction, Cyke," he growled, his animal-like senses ready for battle.

Beast, his blue fur bristling with excitement, cracked his knuckles eagerly. "I'm all set, Cyclops," he said, his sharp mind already devising plans to tackle their opponents.

As the X-Men prepared to confront Magneto and his allies, Angel and Iceman found a moment to share a quiet conversation amidst the chaos.

"Hey, Bobby," Angel called out, gesturing for his friend to join him to where he was standing near the edge of the battlefield.

Iceman glanced over, offering a small nod as he made his way over to Angel's side. "What's up, Warren?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

Angel took a deep breath, his gaze focused on the unfolding conflict before them. "I just wanted to check in," he said, his tone serious. "Things are getting pretty intense out there."

Iceman nodded in agreement, his expression grim. "Yeah, no kidding," he replied, his eyes scanning the battlefield for any signs of danger.

Jean suddenly spoke up, "Guys, let's stay focused on the situation."

With a nod, Angel and Iceman focused on the fight. They were ready to join their teammates against the enemy.

 ...

[Meanwhile Mc pov]

As I processed the surreal scene unfolding before me, Professor X's urgent interjection snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Professor X said, 'Erik!' The gravity in his voice caught my attention, and I turned to him just in time to hear Magneto's response.

"Charles, you are here," Magneto acknowledged, his voice tinged with surprise. Then, he paused, his gaze drifting to the sky as if lost in memories. "It's been 10 years since we saw each other."

"I know," Professor X replied solemnly, acknowledging the passage of time between them.

But then, unexpectedly, Professor X's attention shifted to me, his eyes filled with emotion. "Spider-Man, you're really back," he said, his words carrying a depth of feeling that took me aback.

Before I could fully process his statement, Professor X turned back to Magneto, his tone nostalgic. "Remember those days when we were young, when we admired Spider-Man who saved the world, and became a legend? Remember those, Erik?"

As Professor X and Magneto exchanged words, I stood there in shock, listening to their unexpected conversation. It was surreal to hear that both Magneto and Professor X had once idolized me, Spider-Man.

Then Professor X looked at me again "You said, Erik, that you wanted to become like him." His words reminded me of a time when things were simpler and people looked up to me such a nostalgic days.

I felt a knot form in my stomach, not sure how to respond to their words. To think that two such powerful figures, leaders in their own right, had once looked up to me, Spider-Man, as a symbol of hope and strength—it was almost overwhelming.

But then, Magneto's voice broke through my thoughts, his words cutting deep. "I was just a foolish kid back then," he said, his voice filled with regret. "Spider-Man, this guy... became a legend because there were so many enemies, people were afraid too."

His words hit me like a punch to the gut. Was he suggesting that without those enemies, without the challenges I faced, I would have been just like any other mutant—feared and misunderstood?

"If it weren't for those enemies," Magneto continued, his voice rising with emotion, "Spider-Man would be just like us, Charles—ridiculed by everyone and afraid of our powers, our abilities."

Hearing what Magneto say that without all the villains, people wouldn't respect Spider-Man, it hit hard. It was like a wake-up call, showing me the fine line between being admired and feared.

Looking at Professor X and Magneto, two powerful figures who had once admired me, I couldn't help but wonder what people really thought about me. What kind of mark was I leaving on the world?
