"Thank you," he whispered to no one in s eyes widened in horror when he saw the zombie of a man standing behind him.
Kia stood frozen in place, gulping down nothing. His gaze shifted from the zombie to his bag on the chair, a couple of steps away, where his gun was inside. He cursed himself silently for letting his guard down. The zombie stumbled towards him, its rotting form moving awkwardly.
As it did, Kia stepped to the side slowly, hoping he could get to his bag and his gun without triggering an attack. But when he took another step, the wooden floor creaked beneath his feet, echoing through the silent diner.
The zombie's head jerked towards him, and as soon as its eyes met with Kia's the zombie growled and rushed at him, now he had no choice but to act fast.
