Kapitel 5: Chapter 5 Hypocrite

The renowned Linda was a key partner of the Black & Whela brand, a highly sought-after genius fashion designer among Austin City's socialites, and also a popular figure among the world's top designer society.

However, no one had ever seen her. All work-related matters were handled by her assistant.

As they were in front of Jannie, the store manager could not vent his anger at his subordinates. Hence, he simply instructed the shopping guides to bring out the fabric shredder.

In the blink of an eye, the dress worth 1.5 million dollars was shredded into pieces by the fabric shredder.

Jannie's face was filled with shock.

The shopping guides' hearts ached.

The store manager also had a pained expression on his face.

Only Lizette seemed bored to death and was fiddling with her backpack's strap.

After destroying the gown, the store manager looked at Jannie with a troubled expression. "I'm sorry, Miss Moore, but the dress you want won't be sold either."

Just now, Linda's assistant mentioned on the phone that as a form of punishment, the store was to close for two months, and all clothing sales were prohibited.

Jannie's face was filled with disbelief. "Why? I've already swiped my card and paid 5.25 million dollars!"

"It's not about the money," The store manager answered before he continued to explain, "This is Ms. Linda's order. We are very sorry."

Of course, Jannie knew that Linda strove for perfection, and she would rather lose more than 15 million dollars than tolerate even the slightest flaw.

However, how could she know that this store displayed flawed dresses, considering she never showed her face?

Jannie looked at Lizette with suspicion and quickly shook her head.

It must be a coincidence! How could she possibly know Linda? She comes from the countryside.

...

Jannie and Lizette entered the living room of the Moore Mansion, one after the other.

Jannie had been grumpy all the way home because she couldn't buy the dress she wanted.

When she saw Tatro laughing boisterously while sitting on the couch and playing games, she kicked him.

Tatro had a puzzled expression until he turned and saw Lizette behind Jannie and gained a little understanding.

"Hey, ugly girl!" Tatro called out to Lizette. "What are you carrying?"

Lizette stopped in her tracks and raised the bag she was carrying with an indifferent face. "Can't you read?"

The bag was clearly labeled with the word "Fabric."

Tatro was left speechless on the spot.

As he watched Lizette swagger up the stairs, he angrily pounded the couch.

After listening to Jannie recount the incident, Tatro comforted her, "She just got lucky. Don't bother arguing with someone like her. I have some good news for you. Rosaria is coming back this afternoon."

Jannie's mood instantly changed from anger to joy. "Really? That's great! Rosaria has finally graduated!"

...

At five in the afternoon, the driver picked up Rosaria Zris.

Rosaria was Margaret's niece. Rosaria's parents divorced when Rosaria was young, and she has a sweet way of speaking that Bryan adores. She had been living at the Moore Mansion for a long time.

Unlike the flamboyant Jannie, Rosaria was well-educated and gentle. She had a tender and graceful face and spoke softly and delicately. She was a clear embodiment of the demeanor of a refined lady.

Before dinner, everyone in the Moore family gathered in the living room.

To welcome Rosaria back, Bryan also called Lion to come home.

Rosaria took out gifts one by one from her suitcase and distributed them to everyone.

Jannie received a pair of limited edition sunglasses.

Rosaria said, "I heard that Jannie couldn't get the dress she liked today. I hope this little gift can cheer you up a bit."

Jannie squealed with delight. "Oh my! I've been trying to get these sunglasses for so long! Thank you, Rosaria!"

Tatro received the latest game console, which was not sold domestically, so he was very thrilled and was practically jumping with joy.

Meanwhile, Bryan, Tansill, and Margaret each received their standard accessories with smiles on their faces.

Rosaria's cheeks flushed a delicate pink as she presented the gift to Lion, and her voice was unusually gentle. "I've picked out a pair of cufflinks for you. I hope you like them."

As soon as the words were spoken, Jannie and Tatro could not help but let out mischievous laughs.

Cufflinks were quite famous as tokens of love and commitment.

Lion lowered his eyes, and his voice sounded distant. "Thank you."

Although he said his thanks, he did not lift his hand. It clearly showed that he did not want to accept the gift.

Claus knew Lion's temper, so in order to save Rosaria from embarrassment, he quickly stepped forward with a smile and accepted the gift.

Rosaria did not get angry either. She turned her head and walked toward Lizette, who was in the corner.

Before returning, she had heard from Jannie that the girl was unattractive, but she thought it was an exaggeration. Now, seeing her with her own eyes, she realized it was true. Lizette wore shabby, ill-fitting sportswear that hung loosely on her thin frame. Her outdated braids and rough, yellowish skin only added to her unappealing appearance.

She was not just ugly, but she was beyond horrendous.

Rosaria finally felt relieved.

Her face was full of apology as she said, "I'm so sorry, Lizette. I didn't know you were here, so I didn't prepare a gift for you."

Lizette raised an eyebrow.

Rosaria knew that Jannie failed to purchase a dress today but didn't know I'm here? Ah, what a hypocrite.

Jannie jumped in, "Rosaria, you don't need to apologize. You don't even know her. What if you buy a gift, and she doesn't like it? Wouldn't that be a waste of money?"

Margaret quickly stepped in to smooth things over. "Dinner is almost ready. Let's eat first."

At the dining table, Jannie and Tatro revolved around Rosaria like sunflowers in search of the sun. Rosaria was extremely generous and graceful. She even managed to chime in on Tansill and Bryan's conversations.

Only Lion and Lizette were focused on eating their meal at the dining table.

While eating, Margaret asked Lizette, "Lizette, I heard from Jannie that you didn't buy any clothes today. I remember that you can get really nice work uniforms for just more than 1,500 dollars. How is 15,000 dollars not enough?"

Jannie immediately replied, "Mom, you have no idea. She went shopping at Black & Whela today. That 15,000 dollars you mentioned would barely be enough to buy a dog's collar there."

Margaret frowned. "Oh dear. Lizette, you're just going to work. There's no need to dress fancily. At that time, your colleagues will definitely gossip about it."

Upon hearing these words, Bryan also looked up.

Rosaria spoke up at just the right moment. "So Lizette likes Black & Whela's clothes? I happen to have a set of their work uniforms. If you don't mind, I can give it to you."

"I don't think it's a good idea," Tansill chimed in. "Mom is right. Lizette is supposed to work with Uncle Lion, and dressing too nicely will garner gossips."

Upon hearing that Lizette was going to work with Lion, a fleeting hint of jealousy flashed in Rosaria's eyes. However, it disappeared as quickly as it came.

Tatro snorted. "Rosaria is just too kind-hearted. You all shouldn't worry too much. I saw her bring back a big bag of fabric today."

She can make her own clothes?

Rosaria's gaze became even more fierce.

Others also looked over in surprise.

Lizette spread her hands and candidly admitted, "Well, traveling in the countryside is inconvenient, so we always make our own clothes."

Pfftt!

Jannie and Tatro burst into laughter, and their faces were filled with mockery.

Rosaria also secretly breathed a sigh of relief and regained her gentle expression.

Lion smiled a little as if he had heard something amusing.

Others did not notice it, but Claus, who was laying out the dishes beside him, was startled.

Did Mr. Lion just smile?

It had been ten years since Lion returned to the Moore family, and this was the first time Claus had ever seen him smile.
