Kapitel 3: Chapter 3 Hoping Miss Young Can Persevere

It was 11 p.m. when Lizette finalized the experimental data and ended the video call with her assistant.

After closing the tablet, she opened the encrypted communicator to check the latest released tasks.

On the surface, Lizette was a doctor with a hobby of researching rare earth minerals. Others did not know that she was also a member of MOS, an organization dedicated to investigating matters involving national security secrets.

As one of the team leaders, Lizette was mainly responsible for issuing and assigning tasks.

Boom!

Suddenly, the distinct roar of a sports car echoed from downstairs.

Lizette quickly fastened the communicator and yanked out the power cord, then stood up to peek downstairs through the corner of the curtain.

A black Bugatti Chiron pulled up at the entrance.

The driver's side door slowly rose, and a tall figure stepped out of the car.

With a height of six feet three inches, his tall and sturdy figure was perfectly wrapped in a tailor-made suit. His long legs exuded a strong sense of masculinity with every step he took.

What was even more astonishing was his face.

He had chiseled cheekbones and thick, dark eyebrows that accentuated his striking features, and a prominent nose bridge that added even more definition to his face. The captivating pair of eyes, with elongated corners, exuded an irresistible charm, while his slightly pursed, thin lips brimmed with sensuality. It was impossible not to be attracted to him.

When it comes to being handsomeness, the two brothers in the Moore family were certainly ranked high. However, their attractiveness is largely attributed to their expensive grooming and exquisite attire.

As for the man downstairs, even if he wore ragged clothes and had dark skin, his extraordinary appearance could not be hidden.

Claus, along with a group of housekeepers, came out to welcome him. "Mr. Lion, you're finally back! Old Mr. Moore has been talking about you all day."

"Hm," Lion responded indifferently and entered through the door directly.

So that's Mr. Lion.

After confirming there were no risks, Lizette lowered the blinds and reopened the communicator.

At one in the morning, Lizette finally finished her tasks.

She stretched lazily, only to find that her water cup was empty, and the drinking water was downstairs.

She had already removed her makeup. Since it was so late; everyone should be asleep by now.

Lizette could not be bothered to put on makeup again, so she took her cup and went downstairs.

She did not turn on the light and fumbled her way to the counter.

Lizette had just pressed the water dispensal button when she sensed a foreign presence behind her.

"Who's there!" Lizette was startled. She swiftly turned around and delivered a powerful kick.

It was her instinctive reaction when faced with sudden danger.

To her surprise, she did not hear an expected scream. Instead, her calf was effortlessly grasped by a strong, large hand.

A cold, magnetic voice said, "You disturbed others first and also want to attack first?"

It was Lion Moore.

Lizette quickly pulled her leg back. She hurriedly apologized and then fled from the counter.

She absolutely could not let anyone see her current appearance.

Lion narrowed his cold eyes while watching the slender and agile figure.

On his way home, he had heard that a wild girl from the countryside with a lack of style and unattractive appearance had come to his house.

A wild girl from the countryside? She won't have such keen perception and strong leg strength. Lack of style and unattractive? Even though it was just a fleeting glimpse, that fair skin and those lively eyes were nothing like the plain and unattractive appearance one might expect. How interesting.

...

The next morning, Lizette went downstairs for breakfast and noticed Bryan was also there.

Bryan looked at her lovingly and instructed Claus, "Go call Lion again."

Claus was about to go upstairs, but he saw that Lion had already come down.

Margaret quickly instructed the kitchen to serve breakfast.

Lion walked over to Bryan's side. "Dad."

Bryan nodded in acknowledgement and then pointed to the seat next to him. "Sit down and eat."

The three siblings in the Moore family had a change in their usual air of superiority. Their expressions became respectful and restrained.

The three of them greeted in unison, "Good morning, Uncle Lion."

Lion said in a cold voice, "Mhm."

Margaret's face was full of smiles. "Lion, it's been so long since you've been back! I made sure to tell the kitchen to prepare iced Americano and fried salmon for you this morning - they're your favorites."

Lion finally looked up, but his voice was still icy cold as he spoke. "Margaret, you're too kind."

Lizette appeared calm as she ate her breakfast, but inside, she was filled with astonishment.

She had speculated about Lion's identity, but never imagined that he would turn out to be Bryan's illegitimate son.

Old Mrs. Moore passed away forty years ago, but Lion was only in his twenties.

Before she could even finish musing, Bryan suddenly addressed her. "By the way, Lizette, I've discussed it with your granddad, and we've decided to let you work at the Moore Group for some experience. You'll be working with Tansill."

"Huh?" Lizette could not react in time.

"Grandpa, I'm currently handling more than ten projects, and I have to go on a business trip to Mexico tomorrow. I'm worried that Lizette might have to come with me abruptly and have a hard time adjusting," Tansill said in a troubled tone.

He would never accept this ugly woman.

After pondering for a moment, Bryan found it reasonable and turned his attention back to Tatro. "Tatro, your media company-"

"My company went bankrupt!" Tatro urgently came up with an excuse, "I invested 30 million dollars in a play, but the lead actor was involved in a major scandal. The play got canceled, and I haven't been able to recover the money."

He would rather be scolded as a useless spendthrift than have Lizette follow him.

The two brothers were passing the ball to each other. Just as Bryan was about to lose his temper, Jannie suddenly spoke up. "Grandpa, you can let Lizette go with Uncle Lion."

Margaret quickly agreed with her daughter. "That's right, Dad. Lion is the most talented in our family. Tansill and Tatro still have a long way to go. Lizette will definitely learn a lot from Lion."

"I think it's possible."

"I agree too!"

Lion looked at Lizette.

She stared at the table and remained silent.

Her lowered head and small shoulders somehow made Lion felt something tugging on his heart.

This family treated people like trash and kicked them around.

Lizette suddenly looked up. "Um, Old Mr. Moore, may I call Granddad first?"

Bryan nodded his head.

Lizette walked out, and Jannie had a smug look on her face.

She wanted Lizette to know that she was nothing more than a stray in the Moore family. No one welcomed her, and no one wanted her there. She wanted to see if Lizette would still dare to talk back again.

Meanwhile, Lizette was haggling with Scirwode in a deserted corner outside the main gate. "Before I left, you didn't mention that I have to work. I have to charge extra for this."

Scirwode said something.

Lizette demanded, "Get me another set of lab equipment and make sure it's all imported!"

Scirwode replied something.

"That's more like it," she answered.

After putting away her phone, Lizette returned to the dining table with a beaming smile. "Old Mr. Moore, have you all decided? Who will I be working with?"

Everyone was speechless.

How could someone's expression change faster than flipping through a book?

Bryan cleared his throat and said, "You'll be working as Lion's assistant starting from the day after tomorrow."

Lizette agreed. "Alright!"

Lion stood up gracefully and fastened his cufflinks with an air of nonchalance. "You can work with me, but I have high expectations for my assistants. I hope Miss Young can keep up."

Lizette responded with a fake smile.
