After arriving downstairs, Eddison was still leaning against his car. It was as if he had expected their return.
Vanessa was still boiling with anger and wanted to ask him why he didn't tell them Caroline wasn't at home. However, as she walked up to him, her anger dissipated.
"How long has Caroline been out? Is she hosting lunch for her guests? Are there many guests over?" She asked in a gentle tone.
After all, he was still mad at her. It was normal for him to not tell her about this.
His thin lips were pressed into a straight line.
She said, "Son, look, Caroline has invited some guests to lunch, yet as the man of the house, you're standing here instead of footing the bill. Isn't this a bit strange? Don't you think we should head to the restaurant and pay for the meal? Otherwise, what would her guests think about her? They would only see that her husband was nowhere to be seen on such an important occasion."
He gave her a deep look but no one could read his emotions.
