A few minutes later, Eddison was still on the phone with Jack. Concurrently, he heard Caroline's voice from the bedroom.

"She's awake. I'll hang up."

After that, he hung up the phone without waiting for Jack's response. Eddison returned back to the bedroom and saw Caroline sitting by the edge of the bed. She had already put on her slippers, and she turned one of the lamps on. The lighting in the room was dim.

"Honey, why are you up? You should lie down," he said as he walked over to her. He helped her to lie down on the bed, and she didn't protest.

He didn't dare to leave her side anymore. Although she didn't say anything, she looked angry when she laid on the bed as told.
