When Eddison mentioned that the baby was starving, Caroline considered what was best for the baby. Thus, she stopped crying.

He soaked the towel in hot water and wiped her face. Gently, he applied the towel to her eyes to stop the swelling.

After cleaning up, he then started washing his own hands and face. She hugged him from the side, not wanting to be separated from him.

He found it funny, yet his heart ached to see how she was acting like an insecure child. 

Before leaving for dinner, he asked the servants to take the day off.

It was just that...

People would normally make reservations in advance for New Year's Eve dinner, yet Eddison didn't. Most of the staff members at the restaurants or hotels were given the day off too.

He drove whereas Caroline made phone calls to the restaurants nearby to ask for their availability.
