"That I hope." he answered with a sigh.
Elessar with her incredible strength jumped on a branch just two branches away from the hut. She leaped again and got on the large thick branch where Chief's hut stood.
Her red-eye Marsh Fly remained perched on her shoulder while Pouka lay beneath for a short nap.
Finrod looked down at the rows of trees, skimming about with his eyes when he spotted large mushrooms in the trees' midst gleaming with red light just like he had observed by the lake.
'I don't like the feeling of this.'
However, he wasn't going to have his thoughts bother the Funari people, the fungi had worked for them before his arrival, who was he to tell them he felt uneasy about it?
He channeled mana across his body, rejuvenating his body and causing a sweet warmth across his body, his stats heightened momentarily, and as expected a notification came up telling him of the effect.
Then, he jumped. He landed on the second tallest branch which was just a meter below, he took another leap and landed behind Elessar.
The Funari then walked to the hut, she was just three steps away when she stepped on a mossy area that immediately reacted to her touch.
The moss grew largely vertically, swallowing first her feet and before she could break away, it almost instantaneously grew to her torso and then it stopped by her neck.
"I can't move." She mumbled trying to break off the sticky wet patch of green.
Finrod simply looked from the distance, it had happened so fast. He ran forward and dug in his hands to tear away the moss and instead of it coming off, the mossy plant zoomed forward swallowing Finrod's hands and then his arms until it swallowed him all but his head.
His hands remained stuck to Elessar's torso as he couldn't move.
"Another of chief pranks. Chief!" She cried.
As soon as she did, a tall shadow loomed from Finrod's behind, he saw it on Elessar and the ground beneath him but he couldn't turn to see who it was.
"Chief!" The spunky Funari blurted while her bug buzzed angrily unsure of attacking the chief, it had recognized a threat.
"Calm down Na'se" The fly stopped its aggressive buzzing and nestled in her hair, its attention glued on the scary existence in front of its master.
"Turned out great, I laid quite a lot of them far into the trees down to where we are restricted. If it keeps you two in place then it surely would do the same to those ugly demons."
The words came with a thick accent that even if he spoke the same language as the elves did, Finrod would surely not understand. He thanked his language skill for granting him a wide level of comprehension.
"You brought a guest Elessar."
Finrod had never wanted to turn his head more than he wanted to at the moment and yet he couldn't, the moss also strangely was sapping his mana as he tried to circulate it around his body.
"Ohhh, by the goddess!" He paused cringing over his statement.
"I really should stop saying that." He continued.
Finrod sensed him walking around and then he was in front of him by Elessar.
Finrod's eyes went up as he tried to capture the tall creature of a looming presence.
"Hi there."
His voice was too kind for his appearance. Right in front of him, in front of Finrod stood a Funari that was tall and imposing, a large black cloak hid most of his features leaving out just his hands and head.
His hands were large and slightly covered with brown fur, he was brown-skinned just like all the Funari Finrod had seen so far. His face was aged and was dabbled with little wrinkles, he had short brown hair, and the greenest eyes, his eyes were like a swirling pool of green riddled with little splotches of a lighter green in them, they were hypnotizing, however, the most peculiar, most noticeable thing about him were his giant antlers.
His antlers were about four times as large as Elessar's, a nest could be built on it.
'Must be with age.'
[Nature Sage- lvl 32]
'level 32?! Just how many creatures did he kill?!'
The chief smiled seeing that he had the elf's apt attention. He hit the branch with a thin old staff he had in hand and the moss greatly dwindled in size in response and shrank down to their original size.
'That sapped a lot out of me.'
The chief walked to Elessar and ran his large hairy hand across her hair. He smiled as he did so giving a warm feeling of a father.
Finrod looked at the branch's surface below, everywhere that the chief had stepped, a plant momentarily grew creating a trail of leaves and flowers.
The chief turned to Finrod, "What's your name?" He asked.
"Finrod." He answered and swallowed down.
"Finrod, let's talk more inside."
Elessar bowed and walked backwards, she gave Finrod a smile with a wink and she flipped downwards leaving the two to themselves.
"Are you okay with this Finrod of the mire woods?"
Finrod gave an affirmative nod and the Nature Sage walked towards his hut.
His hut had no opening and Finrod was slightly confused about how the Funari was going to enter.
Then, like it had sensed its owner, a large rectangular opening formed and allowed for passage, the Chief went in and so did Finrod.
The inside was just what Finrod had expected, his class was 'Nature Sage' for a reason. Around the interior of the wooden hut were plants, beautiful plants of various colors carefully placed to give the best of elegance. They were beautiful and sweet smelling however they made the hut seem a little small.
"Sit child." The chief said pointing below to a wooden stool, Finrod took his seat and looked up at the sage who also took a seat right in front of him.
"I am Neska which beautifully translates into flowing river and I am the Chief of this little Funari village. I'm most pleased to meet you. Now, tell me all that happened."
