Bel sat still with a distant look on her face. She had a lot weighing on her mind, but more importantly, she was thinking about the bet she made with Davien. It wasn't much of a bet, as she didn't stand to physically lose anything except her dignity, which was paramount to her life.
She frowned. She shouldn't have humored him. Peradventure, she couldn't sleep for some other reason, Davien was surely going to think he had something to do with it. It didn't help that she had fallen asleep on his lap the night before. She wanted to wipe the memory from her head.
Bel knew what she had to do. She had to exhaust herself. If she did something tasking, she was bound to be too exhausted to stay awake when the lights were turned off. She was certain she just needed some time to get used to this room, and she would be able to sleep at a moment's notice in no time.
