Bel chewed on the grapes a little too hard. A servant had deseeded the grapes—she couldn't say who—and they had also peeled the apple for her. She wondered if this was a way to hide whether the apples were green or not, but Bel knew this was ridiculous since they had only peeled one right in front of her. She had stopped the servant from peeling the rest as she didn't particularly hate the peel. What she hated was when it turned brown. That's why she ate her apples sliced one at a time.
"You don't have to do that yourself," Davien said as he walked to the table. He had just entered the room, and he was already annoying her.
"I am not complaining." She had sent the servant away and was slicing it herself, even though she wasn't that great with a knife. However, the servant had made her feel a little weird just standing there. Vampires still creeped her out.
