Davien looked genuinely relieved at her response and nodded his head. "Alright, I do think I should test him out to see how he responds before we start the journey."

Bel gave a reluctant nod and took a step back from Brian as Davien walked closer and gave him a little tap. He rubbed the horse's neck down to its shoulders, and Brian didn't try to throw him off. Bel tried not to be annoyed by this.

"Stelian, could you get me the saddle from the horse?" Davien asked.

Without saying a word, Stelian rose from where he sat on the ground. His huge frame was always a shock to seeâ€"any taller and she would have to call him a giant. He walked to the horse and removed the saddle in such quick motions, it was a little hard to follow.

She forced her gaze away as he started to walk towards them, only to see that Davien had caught her staring. He turned away without saying a word as he accepted the saddle from Stelian.
