"Formidable predator?" She asked, looking at him with horror.
"Uh-huh," he replied with a shrug. "You already think the worst of me without knowing me, so I am leaning into your narrative."
"And you think that's going to make me trust you?" She gave him a questioning expression.
"Absolutely not! I don't think there is anything that could make you trust me, but it won't stop me from trying. I can be pretty stubborn too."
"You're wasting your time. Besides, your reason is suspicious, as there is nothing to gain."
He turned his frame to face her as they sat on the bench. She could see his expression even in the dark. "You think your trust isn't worth earning?" he asked.
"I didn't say that. It's suspicious to try something so futile."
"Are you saying I would never earn your trust?"
