Kapitel 1: Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Joseph, a dedicated fan of the show "Friends," lived in a modest apartment in Texas. Despite his busy schedule as an accountant, he always found time to unwind with episodes of his favorite sitcom. On this particular evening, he left work with the anticipation of enjoying a relaxing weekend filled with laughter and nostalgia from his beloved show.

As Joseph strolled through the streets on his way home, he decided to stop by a local convenience store to stock up on snacks and beverages for his TV marathon.

He had invited his friends to his apartment to watch the show with him.

As Joseph exited the store and began his journey back to his apartment, a sudden and deafening sound pierced through the air. He turned around just in time to catch a glimpse of a red truck hurtling towards him at an alarming speed.

"What the fuck!"

Panic surged through his body as he realized the imminent danger, but before he could react, the truck collided with him with devastating force.

The impact sent Joseph flying through the air, crashing into the pavement of a nearby parking lot.

A collective gasp echoed from the growing crowd that had gathered to witness the horrifying scene. Shock and disbelief washed over the onlookers as they watched helplessly, unable to intervene in the chaos unfolding before their eyes.

Joseph tried to look with his half closed eyes and saw people standing around him.

'this is it I can feel it' Joseph thought to himself.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, their sirens wailing as they fought against the dwindling seconds to save Joseph's life. Paramedics worked tirelessly to stabilize him as they prepared to transport him to the nearest hospital, but despite their best efforts, Joseph succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The news of Joseph's untimely death sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community, leaving his friends and family grappling with grief and disbelief.

Joseph's head throbbed as he tried to piece together what had happened. His memory was hazy, but he vaguely recalled the screeching of tires and the sensation of being hit by some vehicle.

Now, as he lay in the grimy alley, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. It was as if he was trapped in a nightmare.

one where he woke up in someone else's body.

'where the hell am I?' Joseph thought to himself.

Gingerly, Joseph prodded his small frame, wincing at the pain that shot through him. Bruises adorned his arms and legs like a macabre mosaic, each one a painful reminder of whatever had befallen him. With a grunt of effort, he managed to hoist himself out of the garbage box, his muscles protesting the movement. The din of traffic assaulted his ears, a stark contrast to the quiet of the alley.

'what is this place New York?'

As he stumbled onto the sidewalk, Joseph couldn't help but feel disoriented. The world seemed larger, more intimidating, from his new vantage point.

His theory about what had happened - that he had somehow been transmigrated into this boy's body - felt absurd, like something out of a science fiction novel. Yet, as he took in the unfamiliar sights and sounds, it was becoming harder to deny the possibility.

"Either I had transmigrated into a child's body or I'm having a very realistic dream." Joseph said to himself.

As Joseph ventured further into the bustling city streets, the weight of his predicament grew heavier with each step.

'the air in here is really polluted' Joseph thought to himself.

His attempts to blend in were futile; his unkempt appearance drew stares and whispers from passersby, who regarded him with a mixture of disdain and suspicion.

'damn everybody is starting at me as I'm a freak!'

Ignoring the sidelong glances, Joseph pressed on, determined to find some semblance of familiarity in this alien landscape.

With each person he approached for directions, Joseph's hope dwindled. Instead of the kindness and compassion he was accustomed to, he was met with hostility and contempt.

'this place does feel like New York' Joseph Sai to himself.

Instead of the kindness and compassion he was accustomed to, he was met with hostility and contempt.

He approached a man standing near the road, he planned to ask about this place. But as he called him he did not respond. So Joseph tugged at his dress suddenly the man turned around before Joseph could ask anything he was slapped on his face. Joseph stumbled and fell on the floor.

The man mumbled something but it was inaudible for Joseph who had a ringing in his head.

Tears came out of his eyes due to the pain.

Never before had Joseph experienced such raw aggression. In his previous life, conflicts were resolved with words, not violence.

But here, in this strange new body, he was acutely aware of his vulnerability. His senses heightened, every sound and movement a potential threat. It was a stark contrast to the safety and security he had taken for granted.

As the reality of his situation sank in, Joseph found himself overwhelmed by a sense of disorientation.

The sights and sounds of the city blurred together, a cacophony of chaos that threatened to consume him. He sank to the sidewalk, his mind racing with unanswered questions.

'why would someone slap a kid and why did nobody even interven.'

How had he ended up here? And more importantly, how would he ever find his way back?

Lost in his thoughts, Joseph barely registered the passing hours. Night fell like a shroud over the city, casting long shadows that seemed to stretch into infinity. The once bustling streets grew eerily quiet, the hustle and bustle giving way to an oppressive silence.

In the darkness, Joseph felt more alone than ever, a solitary figure adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

As Joseph huddled in the darkness of the alley, the chill of the night air seeping into his bones, he couldn't shake the feeling of despair that gripped him. With nowhere else to turn, he reluctantly returned to the garbage box where he had awoken earlier. It was a pitiful shelter, but it offered some semblance of protection from the elements.

'sigh I'm stuck in a garbage box, what a life' Joseph thought.

As he settled into the cramped space, Joseph's eyes fell upon a school bag tucked away in the corner. He frowned, certain that he hadn't noticed it there before.

' I'm pretty sure this wasn't here before...'

Curiosity piqued, he reached out and opened the bag, his heart pounding in anticipation. What he found inside left him reeling.

Nestled amongst textbooks and notebooks was an identity card bearing his own name - Joseph - but with a different last name: Sebastian Gale. The realization sent a shiver down his spine.

' I look exactly as the kid more like a teenager in the photo'.

The realization sent a shiver down his spine. It confirmed his suspicion that he had indeed been transmigrated into someone else's body.

But what troubled him most was the name of the school listed on the card: Gotham High.

"Gotha.....Fuck"

For Joseph, the name Gotham carried a weighty significance. It was a city known for its darkness, its crime-ridden streets teeming with corruption and violence. And yet, it was also the home of Dark Knight, Batman.

And the villains who came as the part of a gift.

Joker, scarecrow, Bane are some of the villains who came into Joseph's mind.

"I'm fucked" Joseph said out loud.

As he stared at the identity card in disbelief, Joseph couldn't help but wonder what role he was destined to play in this city of contradictions. Was he merely a pawn in some cosmic game, or did fate have grander plans in store for him?

With a heavy heart, Joseph realized that he was now a part of Gotham's dark history, whether he liked it or not.

I hope everybody enjoyed the chapter😁
