Kapitel 10: Chapter 10 - Man Responsibility [Rewrite]

Another month passed again, and in that one month, Taufik had been trying to recreate "The Way of the Flash" from the light novel he once read. This sword technique focuses on the speed at which you draw your katana to create an almost indestructible sword energy.

In the first week, Taufik trained his speed in drawing the katana he created using his Imagination magic.

In the second week, he thought it was impossible to create that sword technique because he did not understand the principle behind a technique that does not use magic but can still generate sword energy by relying purely on physical strength and speed when drawing a katana.

In the third week, he recalled that in the light novel, the MC, later in the story, could create sword energy without even touching his sword. He found it ridiculous, but he didn't give up. Instead, he attempted to replicate it with the help of his Imagination magic and successfully created a similar effect.

In the last week, Taufik tried to insert some elemental properties like fire, water, wind, soil, dark, and light into the sword energy with the help of his Imagination magic and succeeded in doing so.

So, Rather than mastering "The Way of the Flash" sword technique, Taufik actually ended up creating a new sword technique for himself.

Pleased with his achievement, he named this technique "The Magic Sword Divine Technique"

Taufik said inwardly while still practicing his sword technique using the black katana he received from the login gift.

'If I perfected the dark form, maybe I can enter the void century forcefully and search for a clue about my father'

As Taufik pondered, he suddenly heard a familiar voice calling out to him.

"Fik! I've been looking all over for you!"

Without needing to turn around, Taufik already knew that the voice belonged to Jenn.

"…Why? Are you missing me already? It's only been two days since we last met, and you miss me that much? I didn't know my charm was that powerful"

Taufik said without looking at Jenn. With one final slash of his katana, he turned around to face her, only to be slightly surprised when he saw a man following Jenn from behind.

"…Huh?"

"Yeah~ I miss you"

Jenn said as she walked up to Taufik and kissed him on the cheek. Then, she whispered to him,

"Help me! My family arranged a marriage for me with another magician family, but I rejected it and told them I already have a boyfriend and that I'm planning to marry him. But the person who was supposed to be my fiancé... The one I've known since childhood didn't believe me and demanded proof. So please help me out, okay?"

She said while looking directly into Taufik's eyes.

Taufik was surprised at first, but after hearing what Jenn said, he smiled and then kissed her cheek in return, whispering,

"I'll help you, but you have to grant one request of mine, okay?"

Hearing that, Jenn hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement because she thought it would be better than having to marry someone she didn't love.

Seeing Jenn agree, Taufik was grinning and then suddenly moved in to kiss her on the lips.

Jenn was startled and instinctively tried to push him away at first, but Taufik quickly held her hands, lowered them, and continued kissing her.

Jenn was initially surprised but soon found herself enjoying the kiss. However, their moment was cut short when the man who had come with Jenn suddenly shouted in anger.

"HEY! WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU GUYS DOING, HUH?!!"

After saying that, The man then turned his gaze toward Taufik. Then added.

"You! Young man! Judging by your attire, you're still a student, right? Don't get involved in adult matters and stay away from Jennifer! She's my fiancée now!"

That man said with an angry voice, laced with a mocking tone.

"Rijal! Since when was I your fiancée? That arranged marriage was made a long time ago by our grandfathers when they were drunk! We only learned about it a few weeks ago! I will never marry you! This man here is my boyfriend, and we plan to get married after he finishes his studies. So I will never marry you!"

Jenn declared to that man convincingly while tightly embracing Taufik's arm.

'We are???'

Taufik thought to himself after hearing Jenn's words about their "marriage"

'... Women… You took this lie too far… But whatever~ I'll just go with the flow'

"I don't care about your consent! Your father has also agreed to this marriage, so you have no choice! You should consider it a blessing, especially with that disabled core of yours, to be able to marry someone as great as me! At least, with this, you can help your downgraded family a little. Now come here! We have wedding preparations to make!"

Rijal said smugly, not giving Jenn a chance to refuse while glancing at Taufik with disdain.

Hearing Rijal insult her family, Jenn hesitated, but ultimately, she took a step toward Rijal, knowing what he said was indeed true.

Seeing this, Rijal smirked maliciously and then turned to Taufik.

"And you, young man… Stay away from Jennifer! If I see you near her again, you and your entire family will vanish from this world!! AHAHAHA~"

Hearing this, Taufik's expression darkened. Without hesitation, he drew his katana and swung it, unleashing a wave of sword energy toward Rijal; of course, it was the one without any elemental enhancements.

*Slash!*

A sharp force passed Rijal and grazed his cheeks until they bled before continuing past him, slicing through several trees. The cutting wave didn't stop until it split the 23rd tree in half.

Feeling the blood on his cheek, Rijal turned to look behind him. His eyes widened in terror as he saw the perfectly sliced trees and tree trunks that fell in one direction. Then, he turned back to look at Taufik, who stood there with his katana in hand.

*Thud!*

Immediately, Rijal fell onto the ground, his entire body trembling and he was drenched in cold sweat.

"…At first, I was going to let you leave with Jenn since she agreed to go with you… But you made a huge mistake by threatening my family"

Taufik said and then turned his blue eyes to his crimson eyes, his vampiric aura intensifying as he slowly approached Rijal, who was now visibly shaking, tears mixing with his cold sweat, making him look even more pathetic.

"…Are you prepared for the consequences?"

"W-Wait! WAIT!!!... D-Don't come any closer!... Don't mess with me! D-Do you know who I am?... I'm Rijal Rai'lil Rune from the great Rune Family! I-If you touch me, my family will hunt you down!... So don't come any closer than that!"

Rijal's voice quivered, sounding like an arrogant young master from a cliché Chinese novel Taufik once read.

"Like hell, I care about that. I'm stronger than them. Let your family come, and I'll send them to the afterlife to accompany you so that you don't feel lonely. Am I good?"

Taufik raised his katana, causing Rijal to pale and Piss himself.

"P-Please spare my life! I-I'll do anything for you! Y-You want this woman, right? Just take her! I'll end the engagement and never go near you or your family again! Just don't kill me! PLEASE!!"

Rijal pleaded desperately, his mind unable to comprehend the monstrous strength Taufik had just demonstrated, he had seen many strange things in his time in the Supernatural world, and yet, he had never seen someone with such a powerful force who, with just one swing of his sword, could cause that much Destruction.

Hearing Rijal's desperate pleas, Taufik lowered his katana and then grabbed Rijal by the collar, lifting him off the ground until his feet no longer touched the earth.

"... I'll take your word for today and forgive you this time. But only this time, do you hear me?… If this ever happens again, you'd better be prepared to pay the price. Do you understand?"

Rijal was too terrified to respond to Taufik, so he just simply nodded his head rapidly. Seeing this, Taufik released him, letting him drop back onto the ground. Then said.

"Now, begone! And don't ever mess with Jenn again!"

"Y-Y-Yes! I will!"

Rijal said before casting a final glance at Jenn. And then without another word, he turned and ran off as fast as he could, fearing that Taufik might change his mind.

Jenn remained frozen in her place, watching everything unfold. Seeing Taufik standing there, defending her, something stirred within her heart. Until now, she had only seen Taufik as a handsome and talented magician, but at this moment, he appeared as a strong, fearless man, in her eyes.

Taufik, noticing Jenn standing motionless, walked up to her and gently shook her shoulder.

"Jenn, are you alright? You're not hurt, are you?"

His voice carried a hint of concern.

Hearing Taufik's words pulled her out of her thoughts, but as soon as she realized how close his face was to hers, and that his hands were still on her shoulders, her face turned bright red. Flustered, she quickly took a step back.

"Ahh!! I-I-I'm fine! You don't have to worry!"

She stammered, still blushing.

"…If you say so. But why is your face so red? Are you sick?"

Taufik asked, feigning innocence while secretly amused by her reaction.

Jenn replied while rapidly fanning her face with both hands.

"…Hot? We're in the middle of a forest, and it's almost noon. The temperature should be not that hot, I think? So why do you feel hot?"

Taufik raised an eyebrow, pretending to be oblivious. Then, as he looked at Jenn's flushed face, a thought crossed his mind.

He narrowed his eyes and stared at her suspiciously.

"Wait! Jenn… You… You didn't just fall for me because of this, did you? Are you that type of girl who falls in love with a man just because he saved you, like a princess in a fairy tale?"

Hearing that, Jenn's face grew even redder.

"No! No!! No!!! Who said I'm falling for you?! It's just… It's just… Ahh!! I don't know anymore! Please don't tease me any further!"

Unable to handle the embarrassment, Jenn covered her face with both hands, trying to hide her blushing face.

"Ahaha~ How cute~ Alright, I'll stop… for now... So, what are you going to do next?"

Jenn slowly lowered her hands, looking sad but still with her blushing.

"…I don't know. I left all my belongings at my family's house, but I don't want to go back there right now… So I have no idea"

Said Jenn, her voice carried a hint of sadness. Hearing that, Taufik paused for a moment before saying.

"Hm~ You don't know?… Ahh! How about staying at my house for the time being? If I hadn't done all of that, this wouldn't have happened to you. So as a man, I have to take responsibility, right?"

Although he hadn't spent much time with his father, but Taufik always remembered the one lesson his father taught him.

'Son, always remember, when you start something, you must see it through to the end. We men are not judged by our words, but by our actions. So finish what you started'

Hearing Taufik's words, Jenn's eyes widened. Her face turned crimson again as she hesitantly asked.

"You? Responsibility? To me?"

"…Yes?"

"Are you sure?"

"…Yeah?"

A second of silence passed. Then, suddenly.

"Okay! Take me to your house right now!"

Jenn exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Taufik's hand and then dragging him out of the forest.

Taufik, now completely bewildered, allowed himself to be pulled along.

'Wait… What just happened? I only offered that out of kindness, but… did I just step into something troublesome without realizing it?'

Taufik thought As Jenn eagerly led him to get out of the forest, unaware that he had stepped on a landmine that could not be avoided.
