It was the Ancestral Master.

Zhouzhou's little face immediately fell, and she rubbed her ears, feeling on the verge of tears.

"I've just earned the reward!" she pouted.

"I don't care; I haven't received mine yet. Go get it, quickly!"

For some reason, there had been a delay in the merit payout the last two times. The Ancestral Master was beginning to suspect that maybe the heavens didn't want to reward them.

But that wasn't right!

Well, mostly Zhouzhou did.

But Chubby Girl's efforts counted too, didn't they? She was just a child! How heartless could they be to delay even a kid's earnings?

As he mulled over this, a crackling sound suddenly filled the air. He looked up to see Heavenly Thunder rubbing its hands together, ready to strike.

The Ancestral Master jumped, immediately straightening up, and dared not entertain any stray thoughts.

Seeing his reaction, Heavenly Thunder let it go and floated back over Zhouzhou's head.
