Before Little Goldie could react, another agile figure suddenly rushed over and opened its mouth, aiming to bite Ma Hao's leg with its big white teeth.
Zhouzhou was startled and quickly hugged Laifu. "No, no, Laifu, I'm just kidding."
"Uncle Ma is one of us. You can't really bite him. Just scare him a bit," she said while comforting Laifu by rubbing its back.
After a while, Laifu finally calmed down. Its fluffy tail swayed, brushing past her hand, its narrow eyes squinting lazily but still carrying a hint of hostility.
Yet, its gaze remained fixed on Ma Hao, tinged with menace.
Ma Hao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and exclaimed, "Wow, Zhouzhou, you've really turned this wolf cub into a dog."
With its protective demeanor and wagging tail, there was hardly anything wolf-like about it.
Zhouzhou frowned at him. "Uncle Ma, if you keep talking nonsense, I'll really let Laifu bite you."
Laifu slightly bent its hind legs, baring its teeth at Ma Hao.
