Kapitel 40: Provocation, Accepting the Challenge!

Noticing that something was off with her expression, Wen Yao curiously looked over and saw Qin Ren. She smiled and said, "A' Ren, you're here. Do you want something to eat?"

Qin Ren had always maintained regular eating habits and didn't snack in between meals. Wen Yao's question was merely a formality, but she didn't expect Qin Ren to nod and walk over, pulling out a chair and sitting down. Coincidentally, he sat directly across from Zhouzhou, so he could easily see her.

He said, "I'll eat."

Upon hearing his words, Zhouzhou trembled slightly. It felt as if he wasn't talking about food but about devouring her. She felt scared.

Wen Yao also paused upon hearing his words and, seeing that Zhouzhou seemed uneasy, thought she might be worried about not having enough to eat. So she said, "Then I'll go make two more dishes."

Saying that, she left the dining table and went to the kitchen.
