Kapitel 12: Like a Fierce Beast Fixated on Its Desired Prey
"It's just that I remembered we haven't exchanged contact information yet." Tristan Ford took out his phone, opened his Instagram QR code, and handed it to Cynthia Shannon. "You can inform me when you have time."
Cynthia Shannon looked at the man's serious expression and a shimmering smile appeared at the corner of her mouth. "Since I promised Grandma, I won't go back on my word."
"Of course, I know you won't go back on your word," Tristan said. "I truly appreciate you taking the time to accompany her, winning her favor. I am sincerely grateful, and I will do my best to fulfill the role of a dedicated driver to repay Miss. Shannon's kindness."
His words expressed both gratitude towards Cynthia and the main intention behind exchanging contact information. Moreover, his unwavering trust was the most significant, causing a warm current to flow through Cynthia's heart.
After hesitating for a moment, she took the phone and scanned Tristan's QR code, adding him as a Instagram friend.
Unexpectedly, Tristan then said, "Send me your phone number as well, to avoid any delay in Instagram messages."
Cynthia, "..."
She could clearly sense that this man had ulterior motives, but Tristan's calm expression didn't resemble that of a scheming person. She sighed softly and reluctantly sent her phone number.
Tristan made a phone call, heard her phone ring, and then hung up. "This is my phone number. Please save it, Miss. Shannon."
Under Tristan's gaze, Cynthia saved the number. "Mr. Ford, is there anything else?"
She couldn't figure out the man's intentions, but she could sense a hidden agenda from him, which instinctively told her to keep a distance from him.
How could a clever person like Tristan not detect the deliberate distancing in her words?
"Miss. Shannon, haven't you already guessed my intentions?" Tristan stared at her, and in the depths of his pitch-black eyes flickered a dim, mysterious light. "My grandma said that pursuing a woman requires one to show 100% sincerity, learn to lower one's posture, be proactive, considerate, and most importantly, be committed from beginning to end. The rest will be revealed in due time. But Miss. Shannon, haven't you already sensed my proactiveness?"
Upon hearing his words, Cynthia's brow twitched a few times.
She didn't expect Tristan to be so straightforward in confirming her suspicions and openly revealing his thoughts, which left her feeling somewhat at a loss.
"Mr. Ford,What's the point of telling me this??" Cynthia's gaze flickered slightly, making up her mind to pretend not to understand.
She didn't have the mindset to deal with the man in front of her now, nor was she prepared to embark on a new relationship.
Moreover, she and Tristan were merely acquaintances who had met by chance.
"Miss. Shannon shouldn't have any trouble detecting my grandmother's affection for you." Tristan gazed at her for an instant, a meaningful shimmering light flickering in the bottom of his eyes, "The key thing is that I appreciate Miss. Shannon."
His words were straightforward, not giving Cynthia the slightest room to play dumb.
As the four eyes met without warning, Cynthia's heart suddenly missed a beat.
Her eyes felt like they had been stung as she hastily avoided the sight, "Forgive me, your decision is too hasty, we don't know each other well, and I currently have no intention of accepting a new relationship."
She didn't know enough about the man in front of her, but most men were proud and egotistical, would feel disgraced and spoiled when being rejected by woman.
"How much do we need to know each other to be acquaintance??"
Tristan stared intensely at Cynthia, his deep, bottomless black eyes harboring an imperceptible sharpness, like a fierce beast fixated on its desired prey.
