Kapitel 14: New Family?

Suddenly, Arix froze, quickly turning her head to look around.

Only when she turned back did she notice someone staring at her with a look of resentment.

"Wow, you remember me? I thought you'd forgotten all about me," Drexel said with a raised eyebrow, his face pale.

Now, Drexel didn't look as pitiful as in the holographic exam room, but his slightly pale face showed that he wasn't feeling well.

Arix, feeling a bit guilty, supported Drexel. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "Seriously, you? Your psychic power is draining, and you're not in a hurry to get it treated?"

"If I had gone back earlier, you think you'd have the chance to stick to the end?" Drexel, with a mischievous smile, continued, "Now, outside the school, there are media from all big platforms and people from the five noble families, even Empire spies, all waiting for you."

Arix looked at Drexel skeptically, feeling she was being tricked again. "You are not scaring me, are you?"

"Just go to see for yourself," Drexel smiled cunningly.

Arix didn't intend to risk it, so she turned her gaze to Drexel, "Just tell me, what's your plan? Waiting for me with such serious injuries? I don't believe you just want to chat."

"Stay at my place till school starts next month," Drexel finally said somewhat seriously.

Arix was shocked; she thought she would be satisfied if Drexel just took her to a safe place, but Drexel... could he be this nice?

"Don't hesitate, let's go!" Seeing Arix embarrassed and hesitating, Drexel grabbed her wrist and took her to the military academy's private levitation car parking lot.

Seeing the Kering family's Lev car, Arix focused all her attention on it. She touched here and there like a curious child, even staying in the cockpit, unwilling to leave.

Drexel felt awkward by Arix's foolish behavior, facepalming. He couldn't understand how Arix, who seemed a chemistry genius, could prefer machines like a homebody.

Finally, upon arrival home, Drexel quickly dragged Arix out. She was still trying to cling to the Lev, off amidst the Kering family servants' giggles.

"Your 'house' looks quite nice," Arix remarked, following Drexel in amazement since entering.

The size of the mansion was hard to guess, with lush rose bushes on both sides of the road.

Not far was a small fountain, and even the ground tiles were delicately patterned.

Drexel said with pride, "It has to look nice. It is the residence of an Alliance's admiral. If it didn't, wouldn't it disgrace the Alliance? And these flowers and grass, my mother took care of them herself."

"Cut it out. Look at your face. You're too proud as if you were the one taking care of them," Arix rolled her eyes.

"I dug these flower holes, so that counts as me taking care of them," Drexel argued playfully.

As they joked and laughed at each other, they reached the front door of the grand hall.

The moment they pushed the door open, however, Arix's smile instantly turned cold. Her eyes were fixed on a girl standing behind a distinguished lady in the living room.

The girl, upon seeing Arix, had a hint of nervousness and even panic in her eyes, as if she had seen someone long dead suddenly appear before her.

Drexel curiously looked at the girl in a white dress standing behind his mother. "Eh, Dad, Mom, and Kellan, how come you're all at home today? And who is this young lady? I don't think I've ever seen her before?"

"Drexel, this must be your friend from school. Come, take a seat, make yourself at home," Fleur Kering, Drexel's mother, said to Arix with a gentle smile.

Kellan was Drexel's big brother. He just smiled and nodded to Arix.

"Thank you, ma'am," Arix said as she sat down, giving Fleur and Kellan a forced smile.

Drexel also sat down and asked Fleur, "Mother, you haven't answered my question."

Drexel was really curious because he knew Fleur well. She wouldn't let someone stand beside her unless she genuinely liked them. But he had never seen this girl before, so how could his mother allow a stranger to stand by her side? He wondered.

"Drexel, this is your sister Raya; she's been missing for ten years," Fleur said affectionately, holding the hand of the girl in the white dress as she introduced her to Drexel.

Drexel was initially surprised, but the more he looked at this 'sister' popping out of nowhere, the more uncomfortable he felt. Even a voice inside him was telling him that this person could not possibly be his sister.

"Drexel, it's me," Raya called out in a soft and sweet voice.

Drexel felt a wave of disgust rising from the bottom of his heart, and his mind inexplicably started to get irritated. This feeling was too strange.

Drexel barely nodded to Raya and then asked Fleur, "Have you done a genetic test?"

"Yes, Raya went to participate in the Koros Military Academy entrance exam, got injured during the competition, and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the hospital discovered that Raya's blood type matched our family's gene bank. Otherwise, who knows how much longer it would have taken to find your sister," Fleur said, becoming choked up with emotion as she spoke.

Seeing Fleur cry, Drexel panicked and, suppressing the odd feeling inside him, comforted her, "Don't cry, Mom. She's back now and she looks nice."

Arix watched all this with an indifferent face.

Her mind, however, was in turmoil, because never had she expected to encounter the murderer who had killed the Old Arix today.

And this murderer turned out to be the granddaughter of the Alliance's admiral, Raya Kering?

Remembering everything that the Old Arix went through, Arix could no longer remain calm while watching this family reunion. She owed it to the Old Arix to seek justice.

She probably wouldn't visit the Kering family again, not wanting to stay another moment.

So, Arix said to Drexel, "Drexel, I'm sorry, I have an emergency and must leave now."

Drexel, seeing Arix about to leave without a word, suddenly became anxious. "Arix, didn't you say you'd stay at my place until school starts? Why are you leaving?"

"Sorry, Drexel, I really have something urgent to attend to," Arix explained, barely holding back her anger. She didn't wait any longer and stood up, heading straight for the door.

"Drexel, what's wrong with your friend? She seems unhappy," Thaddeus asked.

"I'm not sure what's going on. She was fine just a moment ago," Drexel was equally puzzled.

"Maybe she really has something urgent to do." Raya pretended to be understanding, but there was a dark gleam in her eyes. Seeing Arix leave, she actually felt a sigh of relief inside. She couldn't understand how Arix, even after being given a potion meant to destroy her psyche, was still alive.

'Huh, but now I am the granddaughter of the Alliance's admiral. A mere orphan from Planet Waste should know to stay far away if she knows what's good,' Raya thought, growing more pleased with herself by the moment, yet her exterior was all innocence and purity.

"You have no idea how dangerous it is for Arix to be out there alone right now," Drexel couldn't help but snap at Raya.

"Drexel! How dare you speak to your sister like that?" Fleur scolded with a cold face.

Drexel swallowed his anger, realizing his outburst was somewhat irrational, and said, "Sorry, I need to step out for a moment." With that, he hurried after Arix.

"This child, Drexel, is so grown up yet still so thoughtless," Fleur murmured.

"Mom, if I'm not mistaken, the classmate Drexel brought home is the student with the Supergiant-Class psychic power that just emerged in the Alliance," Shen Kaiyu speculated thoughtfully.

"Oh, it's her. Then it's really not good to let her be outside alone. With so many eyes on her now, who knows if she'll be in danger?" Fleur began to worry.

"Don't worry, we should trust Drexel. He'll handle it," Thaddeus comforted Fleur, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

Raya, standing behind Fleur, had looked uneasy since she learned Arix possessed a 3s psychic power, finally understanding why Arix was still alive. The psychic power destroying potion could only destroy psychic powers up to Star-Class, and it seemed Arix had narrowly escaped its effects.
