Chapter 112: Saber of Red

~Third POV~

[Clock Tower, Summoning Department]

Mash already accepting the job asked in a curious tone gazing at the catalyst within the room, "I have a few questions first. First, a holy relic is needed to act as a catalyst in summoning a Servant. Have you got something prepared?"

The Dean nodded as he unraveled a piece of an old table part Mash asked, "What's this?"

The Dean soon replied shocking Mash what it was the Holy Relic was related to a certain order of Knights, "It's a piece of the Round Table. The Greatest of Knights once talked with one another at this Table."

Standing up taking the relic and examining it Mash couldn't help but exclaim his genuine shock, "The round table of Britain… you mean, King Arthur's!?"

The Dean nodded as he spoke catching Mash's attention with his words in a serious tone, "… However, since it's a piece of the Round Table, there's no guarantee of which Knight will be summoned."

Mash shrugged off the Dean's seriousness already guessing who he'll summon now with some prior knowledge, "That's not a problem. No matter which one is summoned, any Knight of the Round Table would be more than sufficient as a Servant. But…"

However, Mash returns to the topic at hand placing the table piece to the side and asking the next question in a neutral tone, "Then onto the second question. About the master's on our side…"

Nodding in understanding the Dean showed some document papers each containing a picture and abilities explained to him, "Yes. The other 6 master's have already been decided and dispatched to Romania. These 5 are the ones we sent from the Mage's Association. But the last one is both a Master and the War's supervisor sent from the Church."

The last one stopped Mash in his tracks reading the last paper document with a photo picture reading the name, "His name is Japanese…? Shirou Kotomine…"

Processing the words he spoke eyes slightly widening he immediately thought in an alarmed and biased tone, 'Yeah… no. Nope! I'm not trusting this fucker! Anyone with the name of Shirou, Emiya, or fucking Kotomine in this world is crazy, delusional, Hero complex, harem protagonist, or insane! Hell, I bet his even the Mastermind!!'

Mash could only sigh at this seeing these people of the Masters of Red never once showed up in the actual war could summarize to two words for them, 'Useless extras…'

[Romania Capital, Bucharest]

Arriving at Romania's Capital, Bucharest Mash took some sightseeing before he summons his Servant. Mash paid for the plane ride to the Capital to not alert his enemies that he could teleport freely keeping many of his skills a secret going the mundane path.

How Mash paid for a first-class express VIP airplane was simple. He asked Zelretch beforehand for a credit card for the Clock Tower finances and funds. The Mages will not be happy when they receive bills for all the expensive items and needs Mash will use to bleed them dry, making Zelretch laugh and seeing the Magus struggle.

Moving on Mash sightsee the Capital, enjoying the views before it finally turned nighttime inside a cemetery where the Leyline was hidden in the Capital of Bucharest. Having prepared for a Magic Circle for the summoning he spoke in an annoyed tone, "Sigh… ah shit here we go again."

Placing the piece of the Round Table at the center Mash began to chant the name summoning his Servant in a confident tone, "Let silver and be steel be the essence. Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Let RED be the color I pay tribute to. Let the four cardinal gates close. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the three forked road from the crown reaching into the Kingdom rotate – Come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!"

*SHIII*

A pillar of light emerged from the summoning circle soon dissipating revealing a figure clad in magical armor hiding their features as the figure spoke, "So, you're my Master, yeah – "

"FOU! KYU!"

And emerged from the summoning circle stopping the Knight was Fou as Mash blinked seeing his old comrade again, "Oh? Hey, Fou didn't expect to see you again. Did the big bosses above send ya to watch over me again?"

Fou nodded crossing his short paws and agreeing, "Kyu, Fou."

The Knight paused asking the serious question blinking beneath the armor getting information thankfully from the Holy Grail observing the two, "Okay… why does the Primate Murder just manifest and why do you both seem to know each other?"

Taking the chance to put away the Round Table piece for safekeeping inside his [Sub-Space] Mash spoke in a carefree tone answering his Servant Question, "Let's just say we met in the previous Holy Grail War because of some altercations at the time. I'll explain more later but first introductions. You know Fou and I'm Mash Bastion your Master. Looking forward to working with you."

Instead of answering the Knight looked around at the scenery seemingly annoyed being summoned to a graveyard in an annoyed tone, "Is this a graveyard? Summoned me in an unpleasant place, you did."

Mash shrugged his shoulders as Fou perched himself onto his shoulder explaining himself in a defeated tone, "Yeah… Might've been my bad but this was the closest Leyline for you to Manifest at full strength, no? Besides you're a Saber Class Servant, right?"

Extending his finger pointing at the Knight hearing the clanking of the armor the Knight merely grunted, "Of course. Do I look like an assassin to you?"

Mash replied curtly to his Servant while crossing his arms with a deadpan expression written on his face, "Possibly. I have seen an Archer that doesn't use a Bow. A Saber that doesn't use Swords. Lancer with horrible E-Rank Luck. Assassins that can split from one Servant… so yeah better safe than sorry."

Saber stared blankly at her new Master finally muttering out loud, "… Could it be that I've gotten an idiot Master?"

Mash curtly replied in a neutral tone raising an eyebrow not taking her mood lightly, "… Could it be I've gotten an idiot Servant?"

Saber snorted at his words but felt like they could connect well with his defiant attitude towards her, "Hmph! You're skilled with words, at least."

He sighed as he soon asked Saber for her name while using [Observe] not seeing any info somewhat surprising him, "First of all, could you tell me your true name? … Actually, why can't I see part of your info even though I'm your Master?"

Saber hearing that replied as she began to remove her helmet revealing her face to him, "It's because of this helmet. I'll remove it now."

*Click*

Removing her helmet revealed to be a young girl with a look as sharp as her blade appeared to be revealing herself in a neutral tone, "Yeah. Name's Mordred [The Knight of Treachery]. If you didn't figure out my class from the get-go, then I can already see how this goes down."

Mash simply raised an eyebrow observing Mordred asking in morbid curiosity, "Mordred huh? But isn't he well a guy and you – "

*Shiiing*

Pointing her blade at Mash with a fierce glare not bothering him in the slightest replied in an angry tone, "Finish that sentence if you want a sword to the throat."

Both eyes met with Mash relenting to not speak the topic of her gender again, "Okay. I won't bring it up again. Touchy."

Saber nodded as she lowered her blade answering his question in a calmer tone having that topic settled, "Then I'll forgive you. Don't bring up this topic ever again. Got it?"

He nodded as Mash laughed at the irony of summoning Mordred using the piece of the Round Table in an amused tone, "Sure. Ha… I can't believe I summoned you of all Knights using the piece of the Round Table as a catalyst."

Instantly Saber's mood plummeted looking for the relic only to see it vanish growling at this feeling of insulted being summoned using that relic, "Grrr…. Infuriating! To think I was summoned by that thing!"

Mash seeing the kind of companion he got himself this time asked with a raised eyebrow at Saber's tantrum, "Was it really that much of an insult to summon you with that?"

Saber returned her glare at Mash announcing to him with pride in her tone slamming her fist into her chest, "Of course. I'm the one and only legitimate successor of the King of Knights. I'm not at the level of any common Knight."

Mash felt like he was dealing with a teenager with monumental daddy and anger issues into one along with a hint of superiority complex sighing out loud, "Sigh… this is certainly going to be an interesting day. Hey Saber, can you turn into your Astral Form we have something to invite us?"

Saber raised an eyebrow but decided to trust her new Master. Soon a Dove appeared dropping a piece of paper Saber asked using their mental link as Master and Servant established, 'What is it?'

Reading the paper eyes narrowing at the name Mash responded in a disgusted tone which was noticed by Saber, "We've been called by the Magi who arrived before us… or by this Shirou Kotomine. Keep into Astral Form for the time being Saber."

Saber was confused but followed her Master instincts. With that, Mash began to follow the direction of the paper with a frown expressing his displeasure for anyone named Emiya, Shirou, or Kotomine in the Fate World for VERY good biased reasons.

[Bucharest, Church]

Arriving on time Mash viewed the Priest waiting as he greeted them with a friendly 'innocent' smile on his face, "Welcome."

Not hesitating Mash used [Observe] on him. And he knew he trusted his meta knowledge not trusting this man for a second.

[Amakusa Shirou Tokisada Lv.40 Masters of Red

Description: Amakusa Shirou Tokisada Class Name Ruler is the Ruler-class Servant of the Einzbern Master‎‎ in the Third Holy Grail War in the world of Fate/Apocrypha. Taking on the name Shirou Kotomine, he is the Master of Assassin of Red in the Great Holy Grail War and overseer of the War. Shirou plans to save humanity by using Third Magic from the Greater Grail manipulating the Servants to do his bidding poisoning the Masters with his Servant Assassin.]

Mash could only frown seeing the false priest in front of him as he thought in an annoyed tone much to his frustration, 'Ah… it would be so easy to deal with all the bullshit trouble if I simply end him. But no… then I'll be facing 7 v 2 on us for that. And I don't know if he has already gotten their permission as well and I have not much knowledge about the anime to know the Black team's lineup. This is a very frustrating compromise I suppose…'

Despite how much easy it'll be for Mash to end the threat in front of him he had to let Shirou live for him to be able to take down the remaining Servants of Black for the time being agreeing to team up for now…
