"What?" Marenda's voice was incredulous.

"I said you owe my mother one." Vinn repeated, secretly hoping the ground would open up and swallow her whole. She was gambling, but she hoped more than anything it would pay off.

"How did you know?" Marenda asked, getting over her surprise. Vinn let out a breath she wasn't aware she was holding until then.

"It doesn't matter now, does it? Will you teach me?"
