Kapitel 443: Who has a harder time, studying or playing games?

Original version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had a total capacity of only 32MB.

The original Super Mario 64 had a total capacity of only 8MB.

Many players and game professionals in later generations would exclaim that Nintendo always had a group of magical figures who could cram the most exciting game content into the smallest capacity, making the entire game brim with sincerity.

Of course, this was also because of the performance limitations of the game consoles at the time, which prevented them from exerting their full power.

However, whether it was the GS1 home console in this parallel world or the newly released GSL handheld console, both had far surpassed the performance of similar game consoles from the previous world, naturally allowing them to do more.

So, Takayuki simply increased the capacity of this part of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to 1GB.

For a handheld console, a capacity of 1GB was a qualitative leap.

Every item, every city, every tree could be made more exquisite than the original graphics.

And the total investment in this game also reached one hundred million dollars, because there was no need to arrange too many CG animations for The Legend of Zelda, which saved a bit of money in this regard.

With this investment, the world's first true 3D open-world game was born.

Of course, it could not be said that this game was a completely open world now, because some areas still required additional loading and screen reading.

A true open world would be a completely seamless experience, but Takayuki chose the latter in seamless experience and high-definition experience; he wanted players to experience games with better graphics.

The azure sky and the white clouds, walking on the Hyrule Plain, one could see the sunrise and sunset, and the weather system was no longer just making the game screen brighter or darker, but it truly gained realism.

These were all new experiences.

And this was not all of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

An open world and the alternation of day and night were just one of its features.

In combat scenes, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time also introduced the locking mechanism for the first time.

Press one button to lock onto an enemy, making adjusting the perspective not so bad anymore; this experience leap was also remarkable for players.

After finishing playing, Hayakawa Uchibito fell silent.

Next, the first thing he thought of was to immediately let all the game developers in the company learn from this.

As a loyal fan of Takayuki, Tian Chong, who was already in high school, naturally bought the latest handheld console and two popular games as soon as possible.

And Takayuki did not disappoint him. The new Super Mario Bros. was very interesting, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was even better!

It was not in vain that he skipped his cram school class to queue up to buy the game console.

For the past few days, he had been immersed in the world of Zelda, unable to extricate himself, and couldn't even focus on his cram school lessons.

"Hey hey, Tian Chong, are you secretly playing the game console again!"

As Tian Chong was immersed in playing The Legend of Zelda with his head down, a slender hand suddenly appeared in his field of vision, followed by a hand grabbing Tian Chong's handheld console and snatching it away.

Tian Chong quickly raised his head, seeing a girl of about the same age as him, dressed in winter school uniform, holding Tian Chong's handheld console and glaring at him.

Because the console was too big, the girl's hand seemed to have some difficulty holding it.

"Be careful, Ai Zi! This is my treasure! Don't drop it!"

Tian Chong immediately became anxious when he saw the handheld console in the girl's hand and reached out to snatch it back.

But the girl immediately raised her hand and reached backward.

"Be careful, or I'll tell the teacher. I promised the teacher that you would improve your grades next semester, but you're still not making any progress even in cram school!"

Obviously displeased, the girl named Ai Zi felt that her kindness was being taken advantage of. She had been trying hard to help Tian Chong improve his grades, but he was still addicted to this thing. It was really hopeless!

And what was so fun about this thing? Compared to this, she preferred shopping, taking photos, or watching dramas. She really couldn't understand why boys liked to play with this thing.

Tian Chong's face turned red. "I... I will definitely do better next time, believe me this time!"

"Hmph, don't think you can fool me again. I'm confiscating this thing unless you fulfill our agreement and rank in the top ten of the class."

Tian Chong felt a headache coming on.

He had just played until Link had time-traveled to seven years later and saw the adult Link. He was about to see what would happen next.

Looking at Tian Chong's flushed face, Ai Zi had a clever idea and said, "Okay, here's the deal. I'll hold onto the game console, and I'll decide when you can play. And haven't you always wanted me to try it too? So I promise to learn how to play this game console, and in exchange, you must improve your grades!"

Tian Chong's eyes lit up for a moment. This exchange condition seemed acceptable.

He nodded eagerly. "Okay, okay, of course, as long as I can play, but when can I play?"

"Finish today's lessons first, then complete the study tasks I assigned to you. Once you've finished, you can come to my house and play for a while."

"You'll break it if you hold it!" Tian Chong quickly said.

"How could I? After all, I'm a smart girl, right? This thing isn't difficult."

"I admit that you're very good at studying, but you're definitely not as good as me in playing games on this thing!"

Ai Zi looked disdainfully at Tian Chong. "Do you think I, who can understand even the things that idiots like you can understand, can't understand this thing? Well, let's make a bet. I'll take this thing back to study it, and you complete the study tasks I assigned to you. If I figure out how to use this game console before you finish your tasks, let's see who's faster."

"No, that's too vague. How about this: there's a Fruit Ninja game on my console. If you can score 200 points before I finish my study tasks, you win. If you win, I'll listen to whatever you say in the future."

"Okay, I agree with what you said, but what is this Fruit Ninja thing you're talking about?"

"You'll have to figure it out yourself. Don't tell me you, who just boasted recklessly a moment ago, don't even know how to enter the game."

Ai Zi was also aroused by the challenge and immediately countered, "Deal! Let's see who wins and who loses!"

Ai Zi threw the handheld console into her backpack in a winning manner, and Tian Chong could only watch his treasure move away from him with reluctance.

However, she decided to take it out when she had a study session with her friends in the evening to study it together. She was very curious about why boys were so obsessed with this thing. Did it really have some kind of magic?

Among her friends, there happened to be someone who was very good at using electronic products. She decided to treat this as a project for the evening study session. When Tian Chong completed his tasks, she could proudly show off to him that she could understand how to play this thing without anyone's help.

Hmph, she had outside help, so what was so difficult about a mere game console? Could it be more difficult than math problems?
