Kapitel 79: Chapter 79: Crossing the Norm, Death of Anderson

In fact, Welt's actions were correct, but Bronie's boasting of her first-place ranking easily triggered the boys' competitiveness.

"There's a girl over there!"

And judging by her voice, she's very young.

Since she can do it, why can't they?

With this mindset, some players, after downloading the game, hadn't even left the training level.

But this had little to do with Mr. Welt anymore.

"Next is the Titan piloting training, and I'm really looking forward to it!"

Immediately, the scene changed to an open space with the instructor's Titan BT-7274 not far away. The instructor explained the background, stating that the Titans used by the rebels were originally stolen from the IMC, but the ones currently in use were developed independently by the rebels.

As a rifleman, the protagonist shouldn't have been involved in Titan training, but the Titan instructor in front of him immediately recognized the protagonist's talent.

But just as Welt was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Titan, the screen suddenly flickered.

"Ah! Enemy attack, can't access the Titan!"

Welt felt a bit regretful, but there was nothing he could do. The tutorials were all over, and he was about to be thrown into the battlefield. He could only consider the Titan issue after returning alive.

Entering the drop pod, with the protagonist's nervous breathing and the countless explosions outside, the game officially began.

The game started with a crash landing. The protagonist remained in the drop pod, able to catch only a glimpse of the outside environment in the cramped space.

"A gun in hand, facing enemies as soon as you land. It seems the protagonist's luck isn't very good this time, oh..."

Suddenly, a drop pod flew by, crushing nearby teammates into pulp. The surrounding battlefield was engulfed in chaos, and the feeling of being in the midst of it all was overwhelming.

Suddenly, an enemy Titan dropped from the sky, easily crushing the nearby teammates. But the instructor promptly piloted his Titan and killed it, saving the protagonist's life.

He even pulled the protagonist to safety for treatment, his meticulous care instantly earning Welt's favor.

"Cool~ What a great instructor. But our protagonist is also severely injured. Just after landing, he was injected with something like a stimulant. Perhaps it's the protagonist's luck that's at play here, but I'm quite drawn to this, the heroism."

Then Welt saw the instructor being besieged by other Titans, and then falling in front of him.

One Titan seemed to phase shift like a Wraith, while another had heavy firepower.

When the protagonist regained consciousness, a passing beast was about to bite him.

Fortunately, the instructor's damaged Titan came back to life, saving the protagonist's life.

"Cooper! Use my helmet, use my jump kit, this isn't child's play. Also, take care of her for me... BT-7274..."

Inheritance.

Such a scene touched Welt deeply.

Back then, Joyce, just before dying, passed on his core to Welt as well.

When Welt saw this scene, he fell silent.

But when he saw the barrage of comments, Welt knew he couldn't show too much deviation.

"I didn't expect the way for the protagonist to become a Titan pilot would be like this. War is indeed cruel, but there's no choice. Let's continue fighting in his honor! This Titan will be our comrade!"

Seeing the protagonist put on the helmet, a bunch of code appeared in the upper left corner.

Then the personal cloaking system started!

"The UI looks good, and our new Titan is a Vanguard-class Titan. I don't know if there are any other classes, let's take a closer look."

Welt had long been eager to try it out, but the plot created by Haxxor Bunny made it seem as if it were targeted at him, dampening his mood by half.

But such plots were quite common, everyone liked them, so Welt couldn't say much.

Only those who had truly experienced that kind of unforgettable inheritance wouldn't find such things amusing.

"Well, it's only this big, smaller than I imagined, but it's still good. The joint structure is quite interesting, and I heard that Haxxor Bunny even got someone to help optimize the Titan's design..."

Welt didn't know a person named Vill-V, but according to Bronie, she was a super genius, so this Titan might indeed have the potential to be manufactured.

This robot looked pretty cool, and it would be no problem to deal with the decayed beasts.

"Well, we still need to find a battery to repair the Titan. I wonder how the Titan's self-repair system works. Just inserting a battery seems too simple."

[Haxxor Bunny: Nanotechnology~]

"I see, nanobots for repairs? Just provide enough energy and materials, and it will automatically repair itself? That's really quite extraordinary."

Welt noticed Haxxor Bunny spending money to send a conspicuous message, expressing slight gratitude. However, all the other viewers were puzzled; they probably didn't expect Haxxor Bunny to be watching the livestream as well.

The next level wasn't too difficult. Guns on the ground could be used and swapped at any time, similar to Apex, where you can carry two main weapons. But there were also quite a few grenades you could carry.

With the help of the jump kit, the Titans' maneuverability was much stronger than the legends in Apex. Amidst the fearful voices of enemy riflemen, Welt maneuvered Jack Cooper through them, finally starting the Titan with a charged battery!

"Power at two-thirds, data core initializing, visual systems online, adjusting focal length... Are you okay, Pilot?"

"Well, I didn't expect Titans to have AI, and we even have dialogue options."

- "Probably, did you just call me Pilot?"

"Yes, Lieutenant Anderson granted you temporary authority to act as an Titan Pilot. Congratulations, you can call me BT. My system is currently rebooting, and three batteries will accelerate the process. I'll wait here and contact you through your helmet."

"Ah? Do we need another battery? Alright, there's nothing we can do about it."

Welt set off again. Along the way, the IMC was broadcasting surrender messages, a common psychological tactic on the battlefield. Welt initially ignored them, but then BT reacted.

"Pilot, I advise against surrendering to the IMC. Voice pattern analysis indicates they are lying."

BT's response left Welt feeling both amused and bemused.

"Don't worry, I won't leave you."

"Understood, but the IMC's retrieval team is about to arrive. I suggest you leave quickly."

"I mean, I really won't leave you behind."

"Pilot often need to act without being connected to their Titans."

This conversation furrowed Welt's brow.

"Isn't this AI a bit too indifferent? And these thrown weapons are quite different from Apex, like this Gravity Star, which directly sticks to the enemy like an aluminum thermite grenade."

Inside the destroyed battleship's interior corridors was chaotic, but everything went smoothly, and Welt obtained the final battery! The eagerly awaited moment to pilot the Titan had arrived!

[Protocol One, Link with the Pilot.]

[Protocol Two, Uphold the mission.]

[Protocol Three, Protect the Pilot.]

By now, many enemies were attempting to attack the Titan, but it seemed to have an energy shield specifically designed to block incoming bullets.

This technology was present in both Schicksal's Mechs and AE's Titans. Seeing his perspective elevate significantly, Welt became excited.

"Cool! This Vortex Shield is quite interesting! And this, Electromagnetic Smoke and Lock-on Missiles, this is our Titan, let's go!"

Welt's voice gradually became joyful. No one could resist piloting a huge robot, especially one that could perform emergency dashes, showing decent agility.

This was somewhat similar to AE's Titans, which could briefly burst into speed to deal with Honkai beasts. However, AE had also developed Blink Titans and various other models, making them adept at dealing with Honkai beasts.

Compared to the Titans in this game, AE's Titans seemed more powerful.

So after the initial excitement wore off, Welt calmed down.

But the feeling of controlling a Titan and dominating the battlefield was still thrilling, with music accompanying the action, continuously exciting Welt, allowing him to experience something AE's Titans couldn't offer.

Like Titan combat.

During battles, both friendly and enemy infantry would speak. Friendly infantry would be pleasantly surprised when they saw the protagonist, saying they were saved. Enemy infantry, on the other hand, would wail in fear upon seeing the protagonist, clearly intimidated.

These ubiquitous details elevated Titan Pilot's status on the battlefield, constantly praising the players. Who wouldn't feel ecstatic?

The comments wondered if Haxxor Bunny had turned over a new leaf.

Wasn't this game supposed to have a hundred treasure chest mimics and ten thousand Margit the Fell Omen? And then dozens of War Chariots and Abductor Virgin  charging all at once?

That was Haxxor Bunny's style, right?

But most players were drawn to the giant robot battles.

Even enemy Titan pilots would actively request dialogue with the protagonist, spewing out some trash talk in a very arrogant manner.

"Hahaha! Am I doomed? No, it's you who's doomed!"

Welt was really getting into the game now. Some things Titans couldn't do required leaving the Titan to fight. But with Pilot fighting one moment and the Titan the next, the design was very reasonable and didn't feel monotonous.

There was also a continuous supply of new Titan equipment, allowing players to experience the feeling of playing with different Titans.

Of course, what players liked the most were the Titan's ultimate abilities. Every corner was cheering for the players, wave after wave of excitement, just like the protagonist in a classic personal heroism movie, constantly dominating the battlefield.

Through the process of accompanying BT, Welt gradually became familiar with him. BT was a serious Titan, meticulously completing all his tasks. However, during his time with Cooper, he also learned some humor, showing that behind his cold AI tone and mechanical shell, there was a fiery heart, just like a true comrade, a trustworthy partner.

Later, BT wanted to take a shortcut but accidentally got caught. Cooper had to slaughter his way through the huge construction factory, facing numerous obstacles before finally rescuing BT.

"Pilot, Colonel Anderson is here. Investigate this facility. I'll meet you on the other side."

As they neared the mission objective, Welt saw new dialogue options and chose the first one.

"Don't get caught again, BT."

"I won't take shortcuts anymore."

"Hahaha! Looks like BT has been traumatized by getting caught! Won't dare to take shortcuts anymore, right?"

Welt couldn't hold it in anymore. The last level was so difficult because BT suggested taking a shortcut, and who knew he'd be grabbed by a mechanical arm?

The map design of the last level was interesting, allowing you to see a huge assembly line from the factory and a training ground made up of freely assembled panels.

Some parts of Apex's training ground were probably made this way too.

As trust continued to increase, Welt felt the emotions between himself and BT gradually warming up, like in a road movie, supporting each other, helping each other, and overcoming difficulties.

Such companionship on the battlefield indeed increased a soldier's chances of survival.

Welt was considering whether to install advanced AI inside AE's Titans.

Actually, Welt's childhood companion was an AI. When he ran away from home as a child, he took her with him. But later, after realizing the mission he carried, he returned to AE honestly.

So Welt's initial fondness for AI was also very high.

The next stage of the game was an abandoned research facility, with Pterosaurs flying in the sky, occasionally pecking at the corpses on the ground.

Alien hyenas roared, looking for any edible prey.

But in the blink of an eye, everything changed. The research facility returned to normal, but then quickly returned to its dilapidated state.

At this point, BT explained that temporal distortions filled the facility, causing cracks in time, so Pilot would constantly shuttle between two timelines.

The theme was obvious, but it amazed Welt once again.

"Interesting, I feel like we might get equipment related to time travel later. It seems that in this world where Titans have fallen, technology has advanced to the point where they can even research time."

The temporal instability temporarily stabilized, and under BT's guidance, Welt found the mission objective in a facility - Colonel Anderson.

But he was dead.

His body was stuck in the ceiling, with his upper body hanging down. Without a doubt, his lower body was left on the other side.

"BT, we've found Anderson. He's... uh... in the ceiling."

"Mission accomplished. We have met with Colonel Anderson."

"That's a good joke."

"I did not intend to be humorous."

Welt handed his helmet to BT and took over Anderson's mission from his helmet.

And under BT's guidance, at the other end of the ceiling, Welt found the wristband device in Anderson's hands.

Every time he activated the wristband device, Welt found his character moving to another timeline.

This scene directly stunned Welt.

"So that's how it is, We are now Time Traveling Warriors, huh? Haxxor Bunny really understands the romance of shooting games!"
