5.55% Game's Villain; The World of the Anima / Chapter 1: Prologue: The Memories

Kapitel 1: Prologue: The Memories

My head… it fucking hurt!

I feel like someone is pounding inside my head, holding inside of my brain, as if it were a woman's firm thigh…

And someone holding my brain…

My head felt like it was about to split open, spilling memories of cheap beer, it tasted like horse piss.

Loud music, the kind that could shatter eardrums, still echoed faintly in his ears.

He stirred, groaning, clutching his head like it might explode.

Confusion etched itself onto his face.

'Did I drink the bar dry last night?' he thought, the question dripping with suspicion.

"Huh?!" He pried his eyes open with a groan, squinting against the unfamiliar, confusion turned into a scowl.

This wasn't some dingy bar with sticky floors and questionable clientele.

Was it luxurious? More like a damn hoarder's wet dream!!!

Marble floors gleamed under antique furniture that looked older than his family tree.

Gold-plated everything, a plush carpet that swallowed his feet, and a painting of cherubs that looked like they were judging him.

His hand automatically went to his head, expecting the familiar scratchy texture of the cheap apartment wall, but instead, it met the smooth coolness of silk sheets. Silk sheets? What the actual…?

"Where the hell am I?" he spat, annoyance thick in his voice.

He hazily recalled stumbling out of the bar, laughter echoing in his ears.

He wasn't exactly a saint, but kidnapping seemed a bit too extreme for a few spilled drinks.

'Had someone slipped me something? Drugged? Nah,' he scoffed. He wasn't exactly public enemy number one, not unless you counted outstanding bar tabs and a penchant for questionable karaoke renditions.

Then again, maybe his singing was so bad it warranted kidnapping.

'More than that I was just a regular guy, trying to do good in the world. Did I turn into Mother Teresa's drunken twin last night?'

'Or did I rub my dick on some random dude's girl?' That might be the case. The boy grumbled to himself, sitting up on the plush bed and wincing at the unfamiliar softness. He rubbed his temples, the scowl on his face deepening into a thoughtful frown.

Something feels off! When he raised it to rub his throbbing head, he noticed it wasn't his hand.

"Wait a minute!!! Who is this?" Something felt...off. Tentatively, he raised a hand to his head.

It was smaller, smoother, softer. Not his calloused, scarred hands.

This hand was smooth, delicate, the hand of a child, not a man who'd seen his knuckles crack glass and felt bone meet bone more times than he cared to remember.

He shot up from the bed, the plush carpet sinking beneath his shoddy feet.

A wave of nausea hit him, and he stumbled, glancing down in horror then to his right.

"Nope. Not happening." His stomach churned as he stared at the reflection in the mirror.

It wasn't him.

The face staring back was young, smooth, with wide, terrified yet mild annoyed eyes that mirrored his own.

Where was his beard? His scars? This puny body wasn't his.

He ran towards the mirror, his reflection doing the same, hands running across his scrawny frame.

The mirror showed a scrawny boy, barely past 10, with raven-black hair and wide, teardrop-shaped amethyst eyes.

He had delicate skin, almost translucent, and a build that could barely support a feather.

Cute, maybe, but right now terrified as hell.

Then, his head throbbed more, a searing pain split his head, memories flooding in like a tidal wave.

Not his memories, but the memories of this kid, of the girls, the woman, and the dead man. The dead man who looked suspiciously like... him?

"No fucking way!!!" He stumbled back, legs buckling beneath him as he crashed onto the plush carpet.

Disbelief, fear, and a horrifying realisation clawed at him.

'I was reincarnated? In the body of a freaking kid? And not just some random guy, but him!'

"This can't be happening!" he almost screamed, but realised, quickly closed his eyes and mouth shut, the scream building in his throat.

He had to get a grip. This wasn't his body, but it was his situation.

Having been calmed down, He forced himself to sit onto the impossibly soft bed, the plush cushioning making him feel even more out of place.

A heavy silence settled around him.

'Asher Aegis,' the name echoed in his mind, a bitter curse on his tongue.

He was Asher Aegis, the infamous villain from "Eternal Heroes: The New Dawn of Desire," a notorious VR game notorious for its brutal realism and adult themes.

Its sick popularity stemmed from its twisted world, where users could experience power, love, and loss with nightmarish authenticity.

The graphics, uncannily real, couldn't be compared with any other game.

Users felt like they were living in a new world, addicted to the power, the thrill of the conquest, the possessive desire for heroines.

He couldn't remember the exact events leading to Asher's downfall, but there were hundreds of heinous crimes on display that brought him to public execution, and some information of the mastermind who pulled the strings from the shadows.

He closed his eyes, vividly recalled the final arc, the excruciating torture Asher endured, a public spectacle broadcast for the world to see.

The image of his hanging corpse flashing behind his lids. It makes him creep.

The jeering mob, their faces contorted in a grotesque mix of fear and glee.

The metallic tang of blood, the cloying sweetness of fear, the soul-crushing emptiness of his final breath.

It was a game, yes, but it resonated with a horrifying truth, that may come true in the future, until he came.

One thing gnawed at him with certainty: Asher was no ordinary villain.

He was the hidden gear shifter, and hidden piece of the final boss, who lurked behind the scenes.

His death triggered a cataclysmic chain reaction that reshaped the entire game's narrative.

It was brutal and strangely enough… beautiful.

Knock Knock

Suddenly a knock came from the door, it was loud enough to heard by him, bringing him out of his thoughts.
