Kapitel 340: Gabriel Argent (2)

Caius shifted uncomfortably. "I wasn't personally assigned to that task, Lord Argent."

"Of course not," Gabriel said. "You have more important matters to attend to... After all, aren't you Jessie's most trusted advisor?"

"Indeed… My lord…" Caius tensed.

"For the sake of clarity. I had never seen Sebastian Wells's face before the photograph was brought to me. Don't worry, I personally executed the man who was tasked with coordinating the monitoring operation."

"Fair enough," Gabriel said. "What steps is the Red Colossus Syndicate taking to locate him now?"

"Lord Crowe has placed me in charge of the operation, for starters," Caius said. "The situation became much more pressing, meaning he could leave it to me. My first action was to share our findings with the Blackfire Clan. I spoke directly with Lord Luttrell."

A visible shudder passed through Caius at the memory. Gabriel's lips quirked in a hint of a smile. "I imagine that was... an experience."

Hey! Volume 3 ended! I had a ton of fun writing this book, but I don't know how to say this... Unfortunately, it is not doing well as I expected when I started publishing. Aside from a couple of readers, those who actually pay for the book are few. I know this is entirely my fault, and for sure I will address this matter, as I've already started reflecting on many things. However, the current situation doesn't allow me to keep the story going, hence, I've decided to do what many authors do on Amazon, and end the book here with Volume 3. Things might change in the future, and maybe I might complete the story, but as of now, the best thing to do for me, who is trying to make a living off his work, is to complete Biological Supercomputer System, and work on other projects. I apologize to those who stuck to me and Sebastian for these seven months, and ended up like this... but I don't have an alternative. Bills must be paid, after all.

I hope you will find the strength to forgive me, and know that dropping the book wasn't my intention. Anyway, my next project will be completed with a different approach. I will actually write the whole book before publishing. This will allow me to check and control things better. One of the most criticized aspects of my writing is the pacing, but thinking in retrospect, I found out the reason is that by publishing day by day, I kinda lose the "reader view" and do not realize how much I'm stretching things. Hopefully, my tactic will work in tricking my brain, and the stories I want to share with you will get out in a much better way. Stay strong, and share the book if you liked it.

Lastly, I want to thank Moonlight_Fire, Larulant, Arunner26 and deadmandreaming, for having being loyal readers until now. Really, thanks. It was an honor to entertain you.
