Kapitel 395: 57
Chapter LVII: Fun And Games.
Last Time.
"I don't want to hurt anyone. I just want to go home."
"And I'll make sure you get home." Naruto said before looking to Humpty. "You forgot that you did nothing to help him as well. You're just as guilty as we are!" Naruto said throwing his blank card at Humpty's feet.
"No! Quit changing the rules!" Humpty yelled shooting the cannon at them. They jumped out of the way having the ball destroy the bars.
Humpty, seeing his mistake, flees out the door, hitting the door switch on his way. Naruto kicks a couch into the doorway, keeping it open. He jumps onto Humpty's back but the villain throws him off. Humpty charges Naruto but the ninja dives out of the way and Humpty crashes into the room with the collapsing floor.
The tiles give way and Humpty falls through, surviving, but knocking himself unconscious.
Later, Gordon stays to deal with the police. "I'll make sure that Whale is imprisoned and Croskey pardoned." He said as clones of Naruto put Tobias in a van.
Now.
Metropolis April 30, 10:24 CDT.
Kage, Troia, and Superboy hovered in the Super Cycle above a couple of police cars that have crashed into each other.
"Yeah! We lost them at 3rd and Houston. They're heading to the warehouse district!" One officer said over the radio before the heroes flew off.
"Hey! I will turn the Super Cycle around! Don't think I won't!" Naruto yelled getting his daughter to huff as she de-tangled herself from Superboy.
"Hey! I'm a grown woman, Dad!"
"You are six!"
"Technically, yes! But I was grown into a sixteen year old six years ago! I'm twenty-two!"
(Beep!) (Beep!)
"See? Even Sphere agrees with me." Naruto said getting his daughter to deadpan.
"You don't know that! She could be agreeing with me."
"Do you speak beep?"
"Well, no, but I-!"
"But nothing. She agrees with me!"
Metropolis; Warehouse April 30, 10:35 CDT.
A group of men stood by an armored truck, celebrating robbing the bank.
"We scored big time!"
"No, boys..."
The men turned to see a short man throwing a yellow ball in the air.
He's wearing brown shoes, tan slacks, and a sweater vest over a business shirt, and red bow-tie. He's also wearing a ceramic smiling face mask with short brown hair.
"I'm ever so sorry to spoil your nice celebration. But I have a very important message for your boss, Mr. Mannheim. Tell him the Toyman's calling time-out on his little games." Toyman said before tossing the ball that continued to bounce and get faster.
"And don't be tardy!" Toyman walked away as the ball started leaving cracks in what ever it hit before leaving.
"Grab Pinocchio before he gets out!" One man yelled as they went to the door, and found it was locked before one man was hit with the ball.
Crack!
And broke his rib as it bounced away, leaving craters in each spot it hit, and got smaller.
"I can't get the door open!" One man yelled as the others helped the injured man.
"To the truck!" The group runs and hid in the armored truck.
The ball continues to bounce and gain force until it shatters the solid concrete floor and even bends the steel walls of the vehicle.
"What the hell are we going to do?!"
Suddenly, Kage, Troia, and Superboy dropped down.
"Okay, you-OOF!" Naruto yelled as the ball hit him into crates.
The ball hit both Superboy and Troia several times before Superboy growled and brought his hands together.
Clap!
And smashed the ball to dust as the police opened the large door. Troia and Superboy talked with the police, ignoring the dazed Naruto, who's legs were the only thing visible from the pile of broken crates.
"Ow…!"
Metropolis; Park April 30, 12:01 CDT.
An hour later, Naruto, wearing jeans, a burnt orange shirt under a leather jacket watched a man on a stage test the microphone as workers set up picnic tables for a dedication with Donna and Conner.
Donna is wearing jeans, a red shirt, and tennis shoes.
The man on stage has black hair and is wearing a brown suit.
"Hey guys."
Naruto turned to see Lois and Jimmy walk over, Lois smirking as she pinched Conner's cheek.
"You're growing up nicely."
Conner smacked her hand away and blushed in embarrassment.
Lois then went to Mannheim to ask him question's about the attack earlier before Naruto saw a squadron of toy planes flying in and reveal that they are armed with guns.
"LOOK OUT!" Naruto dashed over and tackled Mannheim out of the way as Lois was grabbed by Donna.
The planes flew around them, taking shots. Mannheim ran off to a playground and up a pipe slide before getting stuck.
Naruto bent his wrists back having small throwing knives pop out of his sleeves, and glowed green before looking at the toy planes and threw the knives just ahead of them. The planes flew in their paths having the knives go through them.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Each plane blew up before crashing by Jimmy who was taking pictures under the cover of a table.
"Looks like they… just broke apart." Jimmy said before hearing Mannheim yell out for help.
Metropolis; Daily Planet April 30, 15:21 CDT.
"Read 'em and weep." Lois said holding a piece of paper in front of the visiting Naruto. "It's all here; the attack on the armored car, the attack on Mannheim, and the finishing touch. A preliminary profile on the perp by a noted police psychiatrist."
"Sure this won't put you in the cross-hairs of whoever is attacking?" Naruto asked taking the paper and reading it over.
"No. Not with Superman and/or the League protecting me."
"Yeah, what do the bad guys say? Lois 'The one Superman always saves' Lane?" Naruto asked as Lois leaned on her desk.
"This guy uses toys as weapons. We're talking about a guy with very serious issues. Like the psychologist said: An emotionally stunted amoral narcissist with paranoid delusions desperately seeking external validations for anti-social behavior."
"Almost sounds like an ordinary villain for Gotham." Naruto replied putting the paper down.
"The most sane guy you have is obsessed with time. Poison Ivy being a close second with being an extreme environmentalist."
"Half the time, yeah. When she's not with Harley, who doesn't want anything to do with the Joker or crime in general."
Metropolis; Docks April 30, 19:50 CDT.
Mannheim threw a newspaper down on the table as two men played cards.
"That creep made me into a laughing stock! How could you let him get so close?!"
"You told us to stay out of the park, boss." one man said looking up.
"You were afraid we'd scare the kids, remember?" The other asked as Mannheim went to the railing.
"He's out there somewhere, the slimy little weasel! Thinks he's going to make me pay!"
(Gargle!)
They heard something bubbling in the water before looking down as a very large toy rubber duck came out of the water.
"(QUACK!)"
It gave off a loud deep quack before they started shooting at it as Mannheim went inside the yacht.
The duck just leaned down several times, destroying the ship as Mannheim ran on to the shore having the duck follow him on land. It tried to swallow him before a lasso was wrapped around its beak as Superboy dropped down on its head.
"MOVE!" Kage yelled dropping down.
Mannheim ran to the woods, and into Toyman who used a large bubble wand to make a bubble that popped into sleeping gas.
Back with the hero, Superboy charged the large toy and punched it as Troia pulled her lasso off.
The duck raised its wings revealing missile launchers that fired at them. Naruto took out two arrows and shot them as fire came off the heads and it moved into the air. Having the missiles follow as well and explode high in the air.
Naruto then created a Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere) that started turning green.
"Troia!" Naruto yelled for his daughter as the orb started screeching.
Troia flew to her father, grabbed him, and threw him at the duck.
"Fūton: Rasengan! (Wind Release: Spiraling Sphere)!" The attack hit the duck and expanded as Troia grabbed Naruto as small cuts appeared on his glove.
BOOM!
The toy exploded leaving a crater before the trio ran after Mannheim. And saw only a gun, and a large bubble wand.
Metropolis; Clark's and Lois' Apartment April 30, 23:00 CDT.
Lois, who was in a robe and a towel around her head, filed her nails as she talked on her phone.
"Yeah, Mannheim's still missing, chief."
Ding-Dong!
"Gotta go, chief! Dinner's here, bye."
She went to the door, opened it, and saw a flower box with no one around.
"Please be flowers, please be flowers." She said before putting it on the counter, and opened it. Revealing a sleeping fairy doll.
She picked it up as it opened its eyes.
"Hello! I'm Princess Nighty-Night!" The doll said as dust came off her wand, knocking Lois out.
"Nighty-Night!"
Metropolis; Unknown Location May 1, 09:46 CDT.
Lois woke up dressed like a doll before hearing a voice.
"Oh, Ms. Lane!"
She got up to see she was in a large doll house before walking to the opening, and saw Toyman on the floor of a large warehouse surrounded by toys of different sizes.
"Can you come out and play?"
He took her to the kitchen for breakfast before explaining that he took her so she could print the real story about him.
He explained about how a toy maker, was conned by Mannheim into making a toy factory which was a front for a numbers racket. The toy maker was arrested for his involvement while Mannheim was only named a suspect. The toy maker died while in prison, leaving a son behind.
Metropolis; Naruto's Hotel Room May 1, 10:09 CDT.
Naruto was typing on his computer as his daughter and Conner walked inside.
"Anything?" She asked.
"No, not yet." Naruto replied as his daughter pushed him out of his seat.
"Leave it to me, old man. I know how to use the internet."
"Old man?!" Naruto asked looking at his daughter.
"You were before the internet, right?" Donna asked as Naruto gained a tick mark.
"We had internet in the 90's. It was shit and a good computer cost upwards of 2,000 dollars!"
"Oh! You mean those 20 pound rocks with a 10 pound screen?"
"You're not going to get under my skin. Now, do you have a better plan?" Naruto asked taking a deep breath.
"Yeah, trying to connect Mannheim with Toyman." She said typing.
"(Sigh) Nothing!"
"Oh, is the smart girl having trouble with all those words and pictures on that there ol' magic box?" Naruto asked in an old man's voice getting his daughter to growl.
"Shut it, Dad!"
"Maybe you should try searching just Mannheim and toy." Conner said looking at the screen as the story of a toy maker, who was conned by Mannheim.
"And the guy died before parole." Naruto said before scrolling down. "But… He had a son! Who has rented property in the warehouse district! Good thinking, Conner." he said as he pat Conner's shoulder on his way out.
This was followed by Donna kissing him on the cheek.
Metropolis; Warehouse May 1, 11:01 CDT.
With his story told, Toyman prepares to kill Mannheim who was dressed in prison clothes with a group of toy solders, but Lois stops him. Angered, Toyman attempts to shoot Lois but Kage, Troia, and Superboy dropped down.
"The fun and games ends here, Toyman!" Naruto yelled before switching with a toy to dodge green goop thrown at him as Troia and Superboy got Mannheim and Lois out of the building.
Suddenly, a bunch of toy bombs dropped down, covering the entire floor having Naruto Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God) out of the building.
BOOM!
A few hours later, the group stood outside the ruined building as Mannheim said he's glad the Toyman is dead as a police officer walked up to them.
"We still haven't found a body. But we did find this." He said holding an evidence back with a broken Toy Man's mask in it.
New Orleans May 5, 15:16 CDT.
Tuppence Terror ran out of a bank holding two large duffel bags having several bills fly out. She ran into the woods behind the bank before Kage dropped down in front of her.
"Hello Kage~!" She sang dropping the bags with a heavy thud and swayed over to him.
"Come all this way to see little 'ol me?" She asked as she stopped in front of him and bent forward, giving him a view of her cleavage.
'S-She's not wearing a bra?!' Naruto thought as the top moved forward before looking up at her batting eyelashes. "I thought you were with the Light? Why are you robbing a bank?"
"A gal's gotta eat don't she? Black Manta doesn't pay us that well since we're living on the sub at the moment."
"So you decided on robbing a bank?" Naruto asked crossing his arms.
"Copperhead told me it was the best way to get your attention. You're one of the League members that still go after petty crimes rather than leaving it to your protege's."
Naruto's eyebrow twitched at the mention of his… Admirer. "Did she now?"
"Yep. It was apparently how she hooked up with you."
"(Sigh) Look Tuppence, I don't know what Copperhead told you, but they're not tru-!" Naruto was interrupted as the Southern criminal/muscle for Kaldur turned around and swayed back to her loot.
"Oh? So when she said that you put a horse to shame?"
"Uh… Okay, most of the things she told you aren't true." Naruto said but the woman ignored him and slowly bent at the waist to pick up her bags.
Naruto could tell she was smirking.
"Look, Tuppence. Are we going to do this the hard way, or the easy way?" Naruto asked, missing the leaves ruffle above him.
Only to quickly turn and block a strike from a smirking Copperhead.
"Hello, lover~!" Naruto looked behind his shoulder and saw Tuppence was in the street, getting in a van before jumping back as Copperhead tried to attack.
"Come on, Kage~. How about a little foreplay before the main event?!"
"Hell no!" Naruto yelled before dashing to the snake villainess.
Later, Naruto was watching Copperhead being put in a police car before turning to jump in the Bio-Ship. Missing the car swerve off the road several miles away.
Blüdhaven May 5, 20:08 EDT.
Kage was going over the S.T.A.R. Labs reports concerning everything the Justice League has confiscated over the years before seeing one on the Runaways that was mixed in.
"They'll be making a break for it in about a week."
Naruto looked to see his future self fixing his black arm walk over.
"S.T.A.R. Labs was pushing them too far, originally. The Reach got them back, then a controlled Blue Beetle caught up to them. Now..."
"It's changed again?" Naruto asked looking down at the file.
"Kind of… Blue is still there, but he's not controlled. In the previous and now, he's had to leave because another threat comes up right after he meets them." Naruto E. said before walking away.
